I've been thinking about an RX6800XT a lot recently. ASUS RX6800XT TUF is selling for $950 which is the lowest price I've seen for any RX6800XT.

Is possible that it could. It all depends on the future all digital currency has in store. It is possible the 4000 series might be a little overpriced on release with possibly some stock woes. But we'll see. I wouldn't mind waiting a few months to see the 3090ti drop in price even more and then snagging it. Switching to another generation GPU would require me to upgrade CPU generations, therefore MOBO an other components in order to get the most of it. |

I think you can get a 6900XT for about the same price which is slightly faster, it is a powerhouse. Just toasty. |

Yeah, the cheapest, I mean least expensive 6900XT is $250 more which isn't a lot but I don't see the benefit when the performance isn't significantly higher.

Given how pretty I thought Dying Light 2 and CP2077 looked with a 1080ti I'm not sure I could come close to justifying the new gen cards that are on their way. Something I've noticed (or maybe I should say not noticed) is the difference in picture appearance between very high video settings and medium settings. That is, medium settings seem to be just as pretty or close to just as pretty as very high video settings.

You are correct, maybe a 15-20% performance increase in some areas in the higher settings. For 1080 gaming the 6800XT would more than enough. With FSR 2.0 it won't matter which GPU you have as the performance and quality will be really close across the board. |

I have a Sapphire 6800XT and game on triple1440p/144hz and the worst performance is still 90fps in Asset to Corsa Competizione cranked up (though not max settings for everything, most are). I paid $860+tax USD tpeignt before all the prices started jumping here. It's hard to say what's a good deal any more but I have seen 6900xt around $900usd. That said, if it'll do what you want it to do, you don't mind prices falling after you buy, it's a great card. Also oversupply suggests sales will keep happening. I'm one to look at whether I get !y money's worth, not whether I could have paid less if if and if.

Yeah, that seems the best price I've seen. No telling what tomorrow brings. Everything I've been waiting to buy till the budget allows keeps going up in price.

It's the conversion rate. $1 AUD = $0.7 USD

I understand, I think what I meant was, say he orders a GPU from an AUS store. Things in AUS about 10% more expensive than shopping in the U.S. Im also not sure if he can visit, for example, Best Buy, and have it shipped to AUS. So maybe he could save some money by having someone buy it here, and then ship. But then again, Im unsure-not so educated on the economy logistics or market options for international shipping. |
