I had a similar issue when I tried to install the tune my first time ever. The tune did not install and the license was at 0. Nothing I did could fix it.

I called John and I had to have my laptop connected to the internet and connected to my car. He remotely signed into my laptop fixed the license, gave me a newer tune and installed it.

yes i've flashed one tune and well now we're trying to work out a little knock im getting when reving the car. I'm thinking john's working a fix based on some logs i did and i will eventually have to flash the car again but wont be able to since i cant update my license.

John had to do the same thing with me, remotely update and flash.

PS- Anyone on the lastest flash getting knock when reving the engine. If i slap the gas pedal as to give it a quick rev up to lets say 4k rpm's i would get a knock sound. I did a log and indeed i'm getting knock counts up to 4 when the gas is suddenly punched back to back, it may not do it if you give it a quick rev.

You don't need to update your license. The license lives on your ECU after you flash your car. Seeing 0 there is normal after the first flash. You shouldn't have any problems flashing subsequent tunes.

Yep. You can verify this by connecting the cable to your car/laptop, opening ProECU, going to tools -> detect vehicle, then Program Vehicle ECU. Click the query ECU button. In the text on the right hand side look for something that says "A standard tuner license is present in this ECU. Programming will NOT consume a further flash license."

Man, you just saved me a couple of nights of sleep. I was going nuts, and having this knock issue literally blinded me, even though john instructed me to read over the first half of the instructions where it said "the first time..." i completely omitted that portion. thanks a lot.

Thanks man, im not sure why mine is doing that. I'm completely stock, as i was driving home today and when giving the gas pedal a quick kick as to rev match i hear the chirp, knock noise. Sucks, hopefully john could help me out with this, as i dont mind the noise im positive the knock can't be good for the car. Glad to hear you dont get any knock man. Aside from this little noise, the latest flash makes the car so much easier to drive, less twitchy or snappy when getting on the throttle, taking off is also smoother and the power delivery is progressively increased through out the rpm range. The one thing i dont know yet is what the racerom traction control does or how it works.

Do some logs and send them to him via the support console. When you have the log then open it by double clicking on it and look at with the 2D view tab to see the knock and how the car is running at that moment.

Sent from my flux capacitor using Taptalk

It sounds strange to be getting knock while not under load (revving). Makes me wonder if it isn't some mechanical noise that is causing false knock at the sensor but isn't actually knock.

I'm anxious too! I finally broke down and ordered my Visconti tune last week after deliberating between his and those guys giving away an intake with their tune. Really excited and I know I made the right choice. Be picking up my cable from the post office after work today
