Really? Many people act as if their civics are comfortable, fast, and sometimes luxurious...

Regardless, comparing the twins to a civic is straight up troll.

Everyone and everything is a troll with the slightest hint of competition for the twins. LOL.

Every forum is like this where you have people who are :
- passionate about cars
- defensive about their shiny new car purchase

Gencoupe forum was even worse. When I sold my Gencoupe and posted about the differences between the Gencoupe and FT86 I got bounced out of there quick. One of the mods there simply cannot handle anything negative about the Gencoupe even in the vs threads.

The mods here are 1000 times better. But at some point you have to realize you are fighting a losing battle here based on the audience.

Fr-s: Looks like sex, slow, handles great, light weight, fun to drive in the twisties, sits low, roomy in the front only.
Genesis: Looks ok but not great, Fast, handles ok, heavy, fun to drive straight, sits high, roomy

Both are great cars in their own ways, both have a lot of potential....

End thread.

The Genesis people kicked you out because they know their car is crapola. Nobody wants to hear a negative truth shoved in their faces. But the Genesis guys can come here all day and amuse us.

Please elaborate how comparing the twins to a civic is trolling? Same price point, compact sports car. Cheap, both are slow, and handles well in their respective drive layout. The hp and torque are pretty similar, weights are pretty similar. to me, it sounds like your offended because your car is compared to a civic.

Spot on. I would also add that the Gencoupe was nearly impossible to hit the EPA numbers while the BRZ was easy. Even with driving the BRZ aggressively. Hyundai has been known to inflate their EPA numbers, whereas I think Subaru and Toyota are almost conservative.

I am averaging 4-5mpg better in my WRX than I did with my Gencoupe... BRZ was 5-6 mpg better than the Gencoupe on average. Same commute. Same driving style.. Crazy...

Some of the Gencoupe guys do not understand the twins at all. All they see are 0-60 times and some track times.

The funny thing is that the 2010-2012 2.0T Gencoupe puts up similar numbers to the BRZ in terms of straightline performance.. Those cars, stock, were really not that fast unless you mod them. When I pointed this out to one of the mods who owns a 2011 2.0T (with an automatic nonetheless) he got his panties in a wad and started talking about modded Gencoupe vs stock BRZ which was just stupid since the BRZ has even more mod support... You can make a fast BRZ just like you can make a fast Gencoupe. But thumbing your nose at the BRZ because it is "slow" when your car pulls the same numbers stock was a ridiculous argument... He didn't like it and bounced me

if* I were to get a GC. It would be the current 2.0t. OR if they put the TAU v8 in it.

I wouldn't get the 3.8 especially if I were worried about track times and modding. It would be easier to get a 2.0t faster than a 3.8 in California. This is MY opinion on that matter.

I would agree. The 2010-2012 2.0T model actually had a ton of headroom for mods. The newer models were not as easy, but came with more stock power (although I think Hyundai overrated the power in the newer cars). My stock 2015 WRX feels faster than my Gencoupe evne though it is down on hp and torque to the 2.0T Gencoupe.

The one big plus with the Gencoupe is the price. I am seeing 2014's for $20K brand new that have autos. Very possible to get a manual 2.0T RSPEC for right around $21K range. It's a lot of car for the money. 2014 3.8 is almost $6K off sticker where I live.
