I think this thread is golden. Once the sarcasm started, it was a good read. I especially like how the newcomers and the infrequent posters showed up for this thread, en masse.

Ballmassager eh? I could build that. Do you want electrical or mechanical massaging?

We're going to have so much fun with DIY!

How old are you? The last thing this forum needs is to turn into one of those other forums plagued with posts like these, insulting and attacking others that whose opinions differ from your own. Get over it, people are upset. Many people were upset when the power and weight got out about the car, now other remaining people are upset what they did to the interior. In order to option up like you mention while raging then the price will skyrocket higher than what this car will already be priced at, which will probably be too much considering how things have been going.

Personally, I think if they really wanted to do a "Track Car Bare Bones" model, it should have been done with no radio, no A/C, and window cranks. This is sort of a mess here, trying to go a "Elise/Exige" route, but it's not going to work as those cars are in a different league.

Mechanical as in driven off the engine?? Not sure how good your balls would feel when your engine is redlining at 7300rpm

I gues no one noticed that even the 86 piston badge is different from it's JDM counterpart. No red accents.

No, its a light-blue tape type thing that comes on the pedals from the factory. Keeps them from being scuffed up before delivery (they have to be taken off during the PDI)

Also note: The clutch and brake pedals are the same as from a WRX.

We could set up some type of inverse vtec system, where the "high lift" lobes disconnect at a certain rpm.

Lol, no not driven off the engine directly. But you could run a signal off the tach...

Yess, but I wouldn't.

Ah, ok. I was kind of thinking that too but considering it matched the blue theme of the interior, I thought the former.
I'm kind of afraid of Toyota/Scion marketing this even more to "that" kind of crowd.

I kinda like this better to be honest. The red accents made it look tacky like a cheap happy meal toy. The painting just wasn't sharp.
Well at least they kept this part though. I was afraid they were going to go fake-vents, assuming that the USDM market didn't know squat about the original 86 and BECAUSE RACECAR.
Also, for the mad tyte JDM people, it's also good cause all you need to do to "jdm convert" this is a good hand and red paint.

.

LOL, I can already imagine JDM Turn-signal 86 logos for the vents on ebay. I was under the impression that those vents were functional.

I must say that the fake red stitches are a real turn off. Especially when the real stitches are also showing next to them. If I can buy one without those for less, I'd go that route. Barebone car w/o options would be the best buy. Hopefully I can somehow get the Subaru Satin Pearl White paint.
