i just did this at a remodel.

cassetta hardwired switch went into the closet, the wireless companion switch got mounted on the pocket door wall with the wallmount kit, with a standard wall plate. looks just like a typical wall switch when done.

edit; msg beat me to it!
I didn't look into this idea, but I had heard of them and was prepared to explore that possible solution, had it become necessary.

I'm sure next to the portland cement factory this is probably the case if you steal it while the workers arent' looking and get to pay whatever you want.

I guess technically they are used more for lamps not actual electrical outlets, but there are commercial grade ones used for controlling equipment that might work.

I think some of the remote switches (that would have a thin profile) or a motion sensor might work better.

That's helps out a lot. Crazy how much that can cost.

The cord on my Kenmore upright is long enough to stretch halfway across the house. I can plug it in in the hallway and vacuum every bedroom, including their closets.

Did you have to remove the tires from your house?

that's an easy one!

i wish most people were only asking for an outlet like that. you even had a neutral in the switch box! most of the older houses don't have that...

They must have buried the wheels when they backfilled the foundation 7 years ago.

but flex does actually easier, as the conduit box knockout is larger than is given on romex boxes.

True. For this that'd be the way I guess.
I managed to run new EMT front of the house to back... Just a handful of holes to mount it to the concrete. Still a major pain, but less than it'd have been for Romex. 3 12ga pairs. I have so much drywall work now. I'm actually curious how a load center swap happens though... Probably horrible work and even more expensive. Romex would win there for sure.

Yea, didn't take me long. I can still do basic electrical.

Got lucky, neighbor had leftover wire. Home Depot doesn't sell it by the foot.
