Yes that's the sales tax in S.C. on the FR-S.

Wrong exhaust, wrong rear bumper, wrong fender badges. Obviously some other market just has yellow as a standard color.

well

1. They have orange sidemarkers
2. They have Scion badges
3. They're still in Japan and the truck looks to be headed towards Yokohama which is a port city(although I admit this one is more-so speculation).
4. Special Edition cars are usually built in a plant shipped over to their countries and then have the special parts installed once they arrive. This was the case with All the Special editions of the FJ Cruiser.

While I've certainly heard of stranger things, it sounds absolutely insane that they would put on the wrong fender badges and wrong bumper, but have them color matched to a unique nonstandard color only to have them swapped out after shipping?

It's due to certification. Go look at your door tag if you got the OE fog light, spoiler, exhaust system, etc. you'll find a yellow sticker about it changing your GAWR. All of the us TRD stuff is TLS port installed, and all of the "wrong" parts are scrapped or shipped back using dummy pn's.

Yup, all the RS1.0 stuff will be port installed. The Tacoma Bajas are built the same way. They have the cheapest wheels and suspension installed at the factory and it gets swapped out at a processing center.

While it doesn't sound impossible that definitely surprises me. I can understand wheels and tires and exhaust. But painted body panels seems crazy.

The body kit probably fits on the standard bumpers. Body kits are a very common port installed item. My MKV GTI sat at port for nearly 2 months waiting on the factory aero kits.

The rear bumper on the frs rs 1.0 as pictures on the scion site is definitely not an addon to the standard bumper.

both front and rear are add-on spoilers. I can see them needing an exhaust from the factory because of testing. Why they cant just test with the TRD quad in the first place... /shrugs
