It's the additives in E85 that did it. Regular gas with E6-E10 does not have these. Not sure if you have Ethanol in your regular fuel, but that's what we get in California.

I was sad to flash back to stock from that setup, and the chirping came back right away. I just got my HPFP replaced this week and it's been fine so far, they did say it's a newer part, but I keep forgetting the paperwork at home to post it up.

My only reason for saying yes to this is to show that more customers feel it's worthwhile to have a solution. If everyone stops complaining, they'll stop making new pumps.

Now, do you care enough? That's the real question. If my new one starts chirping again, I'll just go back to E85. I probably won't even wait that long.

3.5 oz size, costs less than a gallon of gas. But this is mostly because I don't trust technicians touching my car (I was one for 4 years, I saw things!!!). If their is a fix I may take it in but otherwise at 400:1 mix, this 2-stroke oil won't cause any issues.

So has anyone found what these additives are and if we can buy them, or are they just the ash free 2 stroke oil?

Heard on the radio that the typical E510 is going to be pushed to E15. At that point I'm glad this is a 93 octane car cause you would have to mix same crappy gas with 15% ethanol to get 87 octane.

I really have no idea what they put in it.

There has to be a petroleum /refinery process engineer on this forum who could throw some hints our way.

There are many engines that can only handle up to 10% ethanol without damage. If they mandated a higher amount, it would be a disaster. But I wouldn't put it past our idiotic and sociopathic legislators.

Since that day last week when I heard them they haven't been back.

Seems to be something that comes and goes? Annoying.

Finally brought my invoice with me today and the pump I received on 3/3 is 16625JB010. There's no part # for insulation and I'm not seeing any.
