Late to the party but I like it! Then I saw this and now I'm feeling either ripped off or they tried to hide something with the FA20. Either way it's BS. Where do I lodge my complaint?

lookin up info on 2NR-FKE. doesn't sound exciting. it's a 1.5L atkinson cycle straight four built for efficiency. expansion ratio 13.5:1. i wonder how expansion ratio would affect after market forced induction possibilities? or is it only compression ratio that matters? don't really know anything about atkinson cycle engines.

Ok guys, so now I have three questions for you.

1) Would you trade your twin for a S-FR as it is?

2) What do you think the price is going to be?

3) S660 or S-FR?

My answers:

1) No! I wouldn't trade my Charlotte for anything but a MY201X if it came with a turbo or S/C by a miracle.

2) Price is going to be $20k+MSRP.

I say $17k or so from manufacturer and $3k because it's RWD and 6spd. That's my self factious breakdown of price. Oh baby, if it sold for about $17k base model!

3) I'm going with S-FR over S660. Toyota biased and I prefer the egg look+old-school look.

On a funny side-note, Toyota actually did advertise the Yaris this year... in the movie "Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2".

apparently it isn't. Didn't realize the base miata was that light.

doubtful

2. If price is over 20k it won't be worth importing. They need to keep it as inexpensive as possible. If they could really make it $10k less than the FRS & Miata that would get everyone interested in a new car to at least glance at it.

3. there is zero chance of me every buying a honda. I am a devout honda hater and always will be.

WELL EVERYBODY LOOKS LIKE IT'S GOING TO BE A SCION!

BECAUSE EVERYONE HERE LOVES SCION!

So... Who's going to start the group buys for Toyota badges?

Quote:
TORRANCE, Calif. (Oct. 6, 2015) – Following the recent introduction of the Scion iM 5-door hatchback and the sporty Scion iA sedan, the youth division of Toyota is preparing to further expand its lineup with a third all-new vehicle, beginning in 2017. The World Debut of the next Scion concept will take place at the Los Angeles Auto Show, November 18-19, 2015.

Scion continues to be the test laboratory division for Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc. From its start in 2003, Scion’s goal was to offer products and processes that stand apart from the crowd. Scion offers distinctive vehicles that reflect owners’ passions with a model line-up that includes the all-new iM five-door hatchback, the all-new iA sports sedan, the iconic xB urban utility vehicle, the tC sports coupe, and the FR-S rear-wheel drive sports car. Scion also appeals to a youthful audience by offering a simple, no-haggle buying experience and by engaging with potential customers in meaningful and creative ways. For more information, visit www.scion.com.

Now, if the Scion pic is indeed the same car then we already see some changes from the concept. Third brake light in trunk lip and inset badge. If it isn't the same car then never mind.

I would be inclined to agree but if we look back at the iM...

Concept

Reality

I don't understand why scion does this. as we know the iM is the Toyota Auris and it's been around quite awhile, so why add all these new parts that won't make it to production on a car that's already been in production?

To get people talking. It does work but can backfire if the concept design is really liked and then they change it too much.
