Random Thoughts - Part Deux [NO POLITICS]

Saturday,

we first thought we would join the local 86 drive group at Alice's at 8 am, but 8 am went too ear!y.

Me and the wife went from Saratoga to hwy 1 on hwy 9, then went up 1 to half moonbay. Mrs. S-ho said she really missed our drives, so did i.

We had the best picnic at la nibbia winery, one our favorite stops. It was wet and very slippery.

On yea, I had them put the bottom panels that everyone else got but the US on. Cost me about 350. Sounds quieter.

Which reminds me of a back-in-the-day Army story.

It was in the middle of August and my unit was banished to Ft Erwin, CA, for two weeks, to help train a bunch of California National Guard soldiers.

Yep, Ft Erwin is just a few miles south of Death Valley. We are talking HOT down there. No A/C, no fans.
The Fort had been mothballed but was opened up for training (how to be miserable in a parched desert).

The make shift PX (which just barely had tooth paste and shaving cream) was opened up in a large tent. The cashier (the only woman for hundreds of miles) was quite homely and fat ...... so she seemed the first few days.

However, as the two weeks wore on, she got better looking .......

NO! ...... I DID NOT bang her .......
