Does anyone know of any industrial/machined-looking black anodized wheels we can get?

Kind of like this?

You could use a firearms finish, like DuraCoat. You don't need a primer, but you'll need to scuff the surface up with a scotchbrite pad and fully degrease it. I've never used the aerosol version of these, but I have used it out of an airbrush and it's extremely oil/chemical resistant. Unfortunately, it also takes 2-3 weeks to fully cure since it's not a bake-in finish.

...yeah i need it by monday LOL. My dad had the thought of marine varnish from home depot, or a pint of silicone, just dip and let dry. It has to be clear because volumetric tick marks will be made before dipped into the coating whatever it may be.

I would use the silicone myself. Or there are some great urethanes. Stay away from varnish though it would break down to fast.

Like the "grade 8" bolt that came with an old catback (knock off catback, doubt it was really grade 8). My ear is still ringing from the ping when my cousin snapped it as my ear was right next to the pipe trying to get an exhaust hanger on

This seemed simple. But I guess that's part of it too.

See, you've already done due diligence on the tool, so now you just need to do the same for the lug nuts! Hang in there, buddy.

Cold beer when you're done!
Actually, I made a total of 5 trips. The original one to get the tires/tools, the second one to get the new jack, the third one to get nuts that would work, a fourth trip to get a full set of proper nuts because we only had four that fit, and a fifth one to look for a way to fix my stripped stud that we discovered after everything else that happened.

We didn't break any of the tools. But one of the studs on my rear driver hub is stripped. We noticed it was messed up last time we rotated the tires, but it was still "okay" then so we didn't worry about it. It hasn't been back to the dealership lately so I knew I'd at least tell them. Well, this time it was just gone. My dad managed a little redneck engineering with a cheap nut that allowed us to fit a good nut on the threading, but it stripped when we torqued it.

Actually, what I'd like to know is why there is an engine block with a fan belt sitting in the grass in this picture when there is clearly another motor installed under the hood. I've heard of having a spare, but this is carrying it too far.

The girl with the red hair and the nail file is now my wife. I'm the geek with the glasses...

If I can ever find any of my old pics I will 100% guarantee there is at least one other engine block sitting in the grass/on the floor. In some there could be two.

I think OZ does some of their forged wheels in a black anodizing. Black anodizing is hard to come by since anodizing isn't UV stable.

ALTHOUGH...

Forgestar F14s are available in Semi-Gloss Black, and it's almost a good approximation of anodizing.

Modbargains has them as small as 17x8.5. http://www.modbargains.com/forgestar...-brz-17-in.htm

It's a shame it took like 8 hours to install mine or I could post a picture of my car as an example. I have matte black, 17x8.5 F14s on my car right now.

*grumble grumble*

More occurrences of my driver's window not sliding down/popping out. Happens randomly. Have to pay attention when opening and closing just in case...

Time to look for a thread.
