Harnesses are open, just don't cut the seat or remove the original belts

p.73 solo rules: 13.2.H
Quote:
Driver restraints as outlined in Section 3.3.1 are allowed. Seats may not be cut to allow for the installation of alternate seat belts or harnesses. Passive restraint systems may disabled but may not be removed. Removeable seat headrests may be repositioned using the original mounting hardware only if the OE components permit it with no modifications. This includes removing a headrest and reinstalling it backwards. A horizontal “harness bar” may be used as part of the installation hardware for allowed driver restraints provided it has no more than 2 attachment points to the chassis and is bolted at those locations. A C-type harness bar may also be used. It may have 4

Thanks, that's what I thought, just wanted to triple check to make sure I didn't miss some odd scenario.

I am running one of these in my FR-S (autox only).

What mounting points are you using? Just curious.

I bolted the shoulder straps to the driver-side lower rear seat belt attachments (in an X). The shoulder straps come through the factory head rest. I bolted the lap belts in the factory seat belt attachment points for the driver seat. It's been a while since I installed the belt but I followed the safety recommendations from the Schroth install manual (angle of belts, where to attach, etc.). The factory seat belts are all in place and when I street drive (daily driver) the shoulder belts lay out of the way in the rear seat.

The right-side (from driver's position) lap belt attachment is bit tough to get to - hard to fit your hand between the seat and the center tunnel. For the rear, you need to remove the seat cushion and the driver-side b-pillar paneling like in the picture below.

How strange is that speaker mount? It's just like hanging in there.

Currently the ND is classed in Super Street (SS). Page 161 of the rule book.

All unclassified cars will compete in Super Street (SS) until classified by the SEB, unless covered by a "Catch-all Description."

Yeah true but I am not going to protest at a regional. Plus I want to see how they do lol since the SEB will probably class them CS after nats.

So...any more thoughts on 235's vs 225's for nats? I'm still debating going staggered...or perhaps I just need to stop worrying and show up and drive
