Actually, as far as I've seen EVERYTHING has labeled this as a Toyota.... And the main peice of evidence? The Toyota badge on the front and back of the concept!

Does that Lotus cost only $10k more than my tC? That's news to me. Do you ever listen to yourself talk or think before you actually type something?

There is so much contradiction in this thread it's just to funny anymore, and simply not worth replying to because it's no longer a debate about cars, but rather turned into ways you can try and cut someone down....which I simply find rather funny.

PS....Whenever I get a chance to race against a Lotus, I'll be more than happy to get it on vid. That would be kinda fun to be running at the same time as an Exige.

None of your arguements have been valid yet. I wasn't comparing the cost of the two cars. I simply stated that a lotus would out perform you car. At no point did I mention to price of the lotus, nor the price of a tc + the cost of mods you have done. So maybe you should be the one doing some more thinking.

BTW, most of the contradiction has been on your part...

Listen, its your money, you can do anything you want with it.

Although there is this rumor about it becoming a Scion, most of us are against it for many different reasons.

It's still considered as coming out as a Toyota

Some don't care about brand, but us enthusiasts do care.

We want it to be a Toyota because of history and perhaps Toyota might just become king again as it was in the 80's and 90's.

Who knows, if it comes out and has a great success, then maybe Toyota might bring back the Supra and start competing with Nissan's GTR.( Just my little wet Dream), LOL

Pay Attention, you quoted the text about spending $10k for a better stock car. When I said you would be getting passed up, you replied with "I'm sure that Lotus would beat your tC". Don't use an example of a car that cost way more than $10k as an example to back up a previous comment about being able to beat my tC with only $10k towards another car that's stock.

What car would you spend spend $10k more for in stock form that you feel would beat my tC? Brand new or used that will be good enough in stock form to out run me at the race track.

You don't even know the definition of contradiction do you?

You know what dude....just get over it, because now you have put your foot in your mouth by making rather un-intelligent post. I'm done with this.

I can respect that and respect you when you take this type of approach. I get what your position is on it.

Scion, Toyota, and Lexus are the same company. Who cares what badge they stick on the hood?

I'm amazed to see more brand snobbery on this board (dedicated to an affordable, RWD, sporty coupe) than on the BMW boards I frequent.

So JUST HOW MUCH DOES YOUR CAR OWE YOU IN ITS CURRENT STATE? total sum? No need to have a shopping list. A simple nice total sum (excluding labour since you do everything by your self)

Okay, first I said I would put 10k to better use. [Picture of Lotus posted by third party] You said you would pass me in my hypothetical car. I stated a Lotus would beat you (going off a stock car being better than your modded tc. You come back at the whole 10k thing. I explain the same thing I'm explaining now. You go off on some rant. I write this post, and the cycle is complete.

To satisfy your 10k question, I pretty sure the following cars would hand you yours:

Subaru WRX sti
Mitsubishi Evo (VIII - X) RS
Mazda MazdaSpeed 3
Caterham 7
Nissan 370Z
etc...

Some math for your benifit:

Stock tc MSRP: $19-20k (before taxes, etc.)
Mods: $10k (not including labor)
Total: $29-30K

The above cars are all around $30k or so (before taxes, etc).

You are right and also wrong.

Toyota owns Lexus and also Scion.

Lexus is i higher class car company LFA, ISF, etc

Scion is a lower class car company, which makes cheaper affordable cars intended for younger drivers.

The downside of this is that the quality used is a bit cheaper and performance wise is also down.

So no, they're not the same and it is a big deal.

When you think of Toyota sport cars, you think of Supra, Aristo, Mr2, Celica, and of course the famous AE86.

... then theres the Scion TC .

No offend to Scion owners, but Lexus owners (including me) will never look into or buy a Scion. If you don't trust me, go to clublexus.com/forums sometimes. Like 2jz said above, a Lexus is a high-end car, but a Scion is a economical budget car.
Just don't say that there is no difference between Lexus and Scion because it's not true.
If people don't really care what's on the bonnet, they don't have to buy a Lamborghini or Ferrari because they can make less expensive car outperforms any of car(stock) I mentioned above. ( I'm just making argument more broad and general.)

Sorry, but that makes no sense. My comment about you getting passed was a direct reply to you thinking that there is a car that would beat my tC that only cost $10k more dollars than a stock tC. You replied to that comment with a reference to a Lotus which doesn't cost only $10k more than a stock tC. You can't even so much as follow your own comments.

And I've beaten all of those cars listed by a long shot, except the 370z and Caterham 7 since I haven't had the pleasure of racing them. So try again. I completely destroyed my boy's MS3 and it was pushing 280whp (so it wasn't even stock). And before you call BS, they are all on video. Aside from beating those cars anyway...they don't cost only $10k more than a stock tC. My tC was $20k after taxes, tags, titles. Those cars START at $25K or more before taxes, tags, titles. Caterham 7 cost how much, oh about $40-60k (and LOL at trying to daily drive that)

Here, I'll fix it for you.

Stock tc MSRP: $16-18k (before taxes, etc.)
Mods: $10k (not including labor)
Total: $26-28K

And still walks on all those cars you listed (based on the 370z 1/4 mile specs, I would beat that too with me just running low boost).
