Out of curiosity, what kind of costs would one face when pulling the DI's? How many shop hours?

I just got my first couple pops last night, I'm just over 9500 miles with crickets at idle. No CELs, so far. AT with TRD intake and exhaust.

My car is now repaired all under warranty. Work great, I've put my new flash from Perrin too. Everthing seem perfect!

Why would they? Well this issue has led to blown up engines, it doesn't always flash a CEL and we only have a 60k warranty. The symptoms are subjective. My engine is making a louder manifold exhaust leak sort of sound above 5k rpm. Do I pull the injectors? If I had the materials, time, and tools you betcha. Can I convince the dealer to? No. Dealers generally won't do any engine work without a CEL. The issue is a tough one.

To remove and replace, I would expect around 2.0-2.2 hours. To remove, reseal, and reuse the existing injectors I would expect 2.8-3.0 hours.

That's for all of the direct injectors. At the least, if you only have one bad seal it would likely range from around 1.7 to replace one bank (you have to take both injectors on one bank out at the same time), to 2.1 to reseal one bank.

I've spent a lot more on special service tools.....
Doing VANOS on a BMW motor is no fun and requires several tools, some of which you can't even really get.

There are always shortcuts though, I'm sure someone could make a tool that works... but the trial and error on a direct injector is not really my cup of tea lol

I ordered it, it was on there website now. Thanks for the link.
I am going to try and pull these bastards this weekend and see the status sick of worrying about it.

Doing a Vanos sounds like a horror movie.

Any chance you are going to be making a video/howto about it? Because that would be awesome. Your videos are always really high quality and well done.

If you want you can just borrow my tool

Are you going to be replacing the seals or just checking them?

I have to check them first. I have all the seals if I need to replace anything. But also need to get the flow number off the injectors so I can order those if they are scorched.

I placed the order already unfortunately.
