Put my deposit down tonight. The dealer mentioned a couple things. He said there should be no more than 5 miles or so on it when I pick it up. They do their road testing and inspection on all cars they receive.

But more importantly, when I asked about adding options to the car, he said the First86 will include most of the options from the dealer pre-installed.

Which I suppose makes sense? First impressions of these cars in public will be tricked out with lots of options. But I thought the whole Scion deal was the buyer getting to customize their own ride. Who knows if he actually was telling me the right info. Just passing along. It would definitely increase the pricing.

Normally I wouldn't mind this but since we don't know the pricing on this baby at all, I'm a little worried if it turns out to be true, that could get really pricey...

Very true it could get pricey.. Maybe they will give yall fully loaded vehicles at base price as an incentive? That would definitely make it worth being first 86.. altho odds are very slim that is true.

Doubtful. I want to know the price, what's included, and what options I can add. What do they have to lose by announcing the pricing, this is heinous.

I heard that I am the ONLY winner in the entire state of Arizona, so thats pretty cool.
I chose Ultramarine/6spd man, working with Power Toyota/Scion of Tempe. Its most likely gonna be my SO's daily, Im just here to hoon it every once in a while. I daily my turbo miata, and I plan to continue that trend.

Don't let that dealer put stuff on that you don't want. No where does it say in the First 86 program that you have to take the car with all kinds of accessories installed. If the dealer is telling you that, they are just trying to load the car up with as much as they can to make more money.

If you just want the car and no additional accessories, that's what they have to provide you with. Otherwise, they are trying to whack you with as much extras as they can put on the car.

That's probably true. At some point I will call Scion back (not the dealership) and ask about customizing the car and more details. This whole program seemed like a rush and wasn't though through all the way.

Absolutely, it clearly states that accessories and dealer installed options must be approved by the buyer prior to installation/sale.

Requested vehicle must be delivered to 86 Participant as ordered by the customer. Any dealer-installed or port-installed options (including the price of such options) must be clearly disclosed and approved by the 86 Participant in advance.

thats what it says on my paper anyway

Well, I just stopped by my dealer to sign the verification paperwork. The salesman said once Scion Corporate receives it they will send me an e-mail with pricing info (no timeline on e-mail though). Once I get the e-mail I have 96 hours to go back to the dealer and sign a reverification letter that gets sent back to Scion.

Oh, also he told me he didn't know exact pricing, but he knew it would be between $25-30K. That was the last he was told. If that's the case I may not get the car. Anything over $25K I think is too much, unless tha includes every single option, but idk.

I hope this is the shoot high, aim low strategy to give us a good feeling when the car comes in under 25k, if not a lot of people will be very upset.
