I really dont think it was ever intended to mislead, it was purely a big misunderstanding. And i corrected it as soon as i could. I did it from the show rather than wait until i got back to the hotel!

But, i think this has probably done more good than harm As when i thought there was only going to be limited numbers i made the decision that i was going to make sure i get one of these cars.

Before this incorrect news, i was unsure to to whether or not i would buy a brand new car on its release or wait a year or so to get a cheaper 2nd hand 86.

Im sure this has made others decide straight away now too whether or not they will commit to placing an order to secure a brand new car

No, because I'll never waste my time test driving an automatic version

^ on paper wouldn't the flappy paddle be faster on a bendy track than a manual.

A couple months or years down the road we're going to look back on this and be proud of how this little forum got the attention and influenced the public relations actions of a company the size of Toyota.

So i played dumb and said i couldnt remeber who told me But.... that made me look like a liar in the eyes of the guy from Toyota PR But it was worth it as it was just one whole big misunderstanding and the whole thing has blown over now. Just turned out to be a language barrier problem. I was talking about the 86 and he was talking about another car lol
thanks for clearing it up

@Leeky Was the 1000k production model he was talking about that one in a magazine(I would post the pic but I can't find that thread anymore, forgot the name). Cause if I can remember right the magazine said they were only making 500 of those. Of it's 1000 that would be good news =D

I bet the guy was talking about the LFA being handmade in limited quantities. Makes since considering he was so sure about the LFA transmission.

Wow, this has to be the best forum I've ever been on. You guys are so civilized and understanding. I'm on another forum and they troll/argue everyday about some stupid topic.

Hey Leeky, we forgive you. Hope they don't find out who the engineer was, he might have to move to UK to get unemployment benefits... hahha. Anyway, you must be jet-lagged as hell, so through all this excitement it is awesome to here production is what we would have expected... normal. At least I can buy three of them now... I was thinking about 2, one for driving, one for the track, but now I want another one to mothball for 30 years. This little car is going to be a legend... :-)

Doesn't matter to me. I *enjoy* driving a manual transmission car.

Nope, if it was dual clutch setup I would drive it but I'm not wasting my time with an automatic transmission that uses a torque converter.
