Washed and waxed before heading off to work. Installed Airaid CAI during lunch break. Replaced amber lens covers with clear ones and amber bulbs after work. Now relax and enjoy.

86 Plaque

Thank you for your feedback people. It seems a few of you would like me to make you your own custom plaque. I am just in the process of prototyping a better engraving & paint process rather than waterjet and will start an official thread so I can get numbers together soon.

Installed my Eibach Sportline Springs using DarrenDriven's DIY. The car handles even better now. I didn't think it was possible, but it does. Cornering is on rails and acceleration feels much more planted. May be my imagination, but the transmission seems easier to shift under hard acceleration as well.

A little off subject

I just came back from 4 days in the West Virginia Mountains. Picked up my FR-s last Thursday, and set off on Friday morning with only 34 miles on the odometer. After reading about the recommended break in in the manual (not over 4K rpm for the first 1K miles, etc.), I set the rev alarm for 4,000 and hit the road. The car will accelerate adequately with the 4K limit, but it's not much fun. The up side is the efficiency- I got 31 mpg from my first tank of gas. All of the driving was winding mountain highways, most with 55 limits, except for our climb to Spruce Knob, the highest point in WVa. Excellent break in trip.

I'm satisfied with the car so far, and noticed no problems on the trip except for a burning smell in the first 200 miles or so, common with new cars, and not an issue unless it persists. It's raining pretty hard here today, so we'll see if the taillight condensation issue shows up.

Drove it on Laguna Seca today. What an awesome track, I'm even more impressed with my car than I thought I could be.

This is the first prototype I have come up with. It is real carbon fibre (I tried my hardest to find the Toyota T Carbon style pattern like the rest of the car but so far can't find anything). The centre section is stainless steel and is all waterjet cut by myself. The engraving has been waterjet too but it's not 100% perfect so I may go down the proper machine engraving route. The plaque isn't actually screwed to the car as I didn't want to leave any marks although each piece is screwed together using stainless bolts. I may decide to use double sided velcro to keep it in place but after a 600 mile trip on country roads it didn't make a sound or move a mm. Sorry about the dust on it in the picture but you get the idea. If anyone else would like me to make one for your car let me know and I could price it up. What do you guys think? Cool or Lame?

Price it for me!

Found out it's being delayed at the processing center along with a bunch of other FR-S' because of quality issues? Apparently an email was sent to them to speed up my FR-S though...

/still waiting.

Did the PERRIN Crank Pulley mod today! Awesome mod for ~$120, only took about 30 minutes and that was taking our time. Car feels a lot less rough and lurchy, love the responsiveness especially at low rpm/gears!
