Lots of folks don't feel the difference. It is much more noticeable when trail braking heavily into a corner, where the EBD tries to correct a rear slide by applying some rear brake.

That's a matter of perspective. With some AutoX and two HPDE days of experience, you still have a long way to go, unless you have an ungodly amount of talent (in which case, we'd like to sponsor you).

The Pedal Dance is required on all years to disable electronics aids, including the 2016 (I've confirmed it is needed on the 2016 already).

I started doing the pedal dance after I ran my DAQ in AutoX. I actually saw that when I launch the car from the line and get a lot of wheel spin, brake pressure was going on and off. When I did pedal dance and launched the car the same way, brake pressure was steady at 0.

Is this actually accurate? I've not noticed any TCS or stability interference with just holding the three buttons down only, and I've had hundreds of runs, and several hard Pro Solo starts.

Rather than hard launches, think more along the lines of a botched, blew-the-effin-tires-off-it launch on the way to a 4-sec 40ft.

Hmm, the tall RE71R's (235-45-17) probably can't even spin that much with stock power, unless it's wet...and sealed asphalt. I'll try some runs doing the pedal dance next year, but in 2013, I didn't notice any change at all, except for maybe ice mode engaging easier, so I got away from it.

When I did my tests, I was on aging stock tires. They spin an the time. Like you, I was surprised that it actually did that. The last autox I did was with pedal dance. To me, it felt more loose and slippery than without pedal dance. Although, you can probably attribute that to abused stock tires.

When the snow hits, I'll do a test with and without pedal dance and show the brake pressure on both tests.

I was playing around with this and discovered I can engage the diagnostic mode in my car the following way:
Similar steps however I used the following:
As normal the car must be warmed up and the procedure must be done after starting the car.

1) Start the routine with handbrake up.
2) Push brake in 3 times. Hold it down the third time.
3) Pull handbrake 3 times
4) Push brake 2 times. The lights will come on and the procedure is complete on 2nd push.

So this is a bit shorter and I don't know if it has been mentioned or if it's different for other models (I have a 2014).

Thanks @CSG Mike for this thread and perhaps you can confirm this.

I'm a die hard nanny hater but I think, without them, the car would have been shipped with stickier tires and set up tighter. I've been toggling the pedal-dance mode on and off in regular traffic for a year now and am pretty sure I'm not imagining the latency.

It's not just latency. Even with the 5-second cancellation, it feels to me like the throttle doesn't respond to stabbing the pedal. It opens even more gradually in a turn. Am I imagining this? I haven't set up the datalogging to prove it.

The original instructions are a superset, designed to make it easier for people unfamiliar with the procedure. Your method works too, but is still a superset

What is the quickest or shortest way of doing this?

Buy this and it's only a button press, you don't even need to wait for operating temp. it also disables the ABS without removing the fuse and disables the TPMS light.
