I've heard don't ship sample via usps because it will be quarantined as a hazardous material.

Weird.. On the paper I got from Blackstone they said to use USPS... I didn't know there was so much against it.

Yes, I had a problem with USPS.

Blackstone says the bottle is okay to send through regular mail just as it is. Bullshit. When I sent mine, the idiots at the post office held it for 30 days. Tracking just showed that it had been received at the post office, then nothing.

I ended up having to file a complaint with the postmaster to get it released. First they tried to say it had been delivered. Then they said it hadn't been delivered but it wasn't at the post office, but they couldn't tell me where it was. Then suddenly they "found" it and delivered it. I think they quarantined it because, with their heads shoved so firmly into their assholes, they couldn't decide whether it was hazardous material.

Contrast that with UPS. If I send a sample on a Friday, they tell me it will get there the following Thursday. Then tracking shows it delivered three days early on Monday instead. For that kind service, I don't mind paying a few dollars more.

Right now I have a letter on my desk that has been delivered to my mail box three times by the USPS... but it's not my address on the letter.

At a former apartment, I didn't get my mail for almost a month because the regular carrier went on leave, and nobody knew where the key to my building was. So instead of getting in touch with the regular carrier, my landlord or any of the tenants, they just piled the mail up somewhere and couldn't tell anybody where. Then it all showed up strewn about the front hallway where the substitute carrier had brought it all over and just thrown it through the front door for us in the building to sort through.

At another former apartment, several of us in the building had Netflix DVD accounts. The DVDs wouldn't fit in the old apartment mail boxes. So the idiot carrier would take all the DVDs and fling them up the stairs. We'd have to gather them up and figure out which ones belonged to whom.

That is, except the ones she took home and watched. I kept having my DVDs show up as "returned" when I never got to watch them. At least she didn't just steal them.

In college I had a textbook I ordered get into a weird tracking loop where it went back and forth between a local post office and the carrier facility for several days until I walked through a door at the carrier facility that was supposed to be locked and wouldn't leave until they found my fucking book.

I have had packages sent to me via USPS that were supposed to be delivered in days, but instead they just disappeared into nothingness for a couple of weeks in the tracking. Then they're suddenly delivered. Recently I had some car parts sent from California that somehow ended up in Pennsylvania for several days before finally being rerouted to Texas.

Along those same lines, I once sent a letter from Tallahassee, Florida to Dothan, Alabama. It arrived three weeks later postmarked Indianapolis.

When I sent that sample to Blackstone, a couple of years had gone by since the USPS had done anything stupid to me. And Blackstone said it would work okay. So I tried it.

But no more.

I'm fucking done.

As far as I'm concerned, Congress should dissolve the USPS monopoly on letters and let that disaster just die the death it deserves.

You're right, Tcoat - I have contacted the Post Master General to see if I could get the employee addresses. The least I could do is start sending unemployment checks!

Its hour 8 of 16 on day 10 of 15 for me. GET ON MY LEVEL. Got double time for a double on my 7th day though, so that's something.

Holy Shit. Yes, couple dollars more would definitely be worth avoiding the hassle and headache.

I only get double time on Saturdays when working 7 days in a row on one pay period (Sun-Sat). The rest of my overtime is just 1.5. I only get 50 cents per hour bonus for working nights. I'm not complaining though, I'm very lucky and fortunate to be able to have this job, no matter how long it lasts.
