That war was very dirty no matter what angle it's inspected from. Deep wounds on many continents. Hungary suffered horrific humanitarian losses and I have nothing but sympathy for Hungarian families and survivors.

sooo VW has VCDS for customizing features on the ECU ,.... whats the FRS/Toyota version and where can i get it?

Toyota Techstream. They have the bootleg version of the cable on eBay for like $25. Even if you buy the authentic cable for $500, the software will have the same limited functionality as the fake cable since Toyota only sell the full version to registered shops for $1500 which includes a Panasonic ToughBook.

VAGCOM/VCDS is such a bargain for what it is (IIRC 75% functionality of a VAS terminal). I used to have a Micro-Can sitting in my glovebox.

This is news to me. What does the full version do that the knockoff's can't? Just curious.

IIRC an example is pairing keys to a car.

VCDS on the other hand comes out of the box with an hex editor to reprogram modules for different options or regional settings, and the ability to initialize or change operating parameters for certain computer controlled components, it can also be used for data logging. I don't see much of that with the bootleg techstream.
