1. I want a predictable, linear powerband. For RWD, I don't want the rear wheels to hit a huge spike in power while i'm on the track. S/C seemed to be a good option. If i had an AWD vehicle or something with less of a threat to me losing the rear end, i'd have no problem with Turbo.

2. Ease of install and operation. No boost controllers, fancy exhaust piping, excess heat. Bolt on, tune and go.

I don't necessarily think price was a motivation point for me - to get my S/C install to where i want it in terms of performance and reliability, it wasn't super cheap. Beyond the $5k price tag for the Vortech Kit, I bought:

Perrin Oil Cooler ($600ish)
Mishimoto Radiator ($300)
Radium Dual Catch Can setup ($400)
Smaller pulley and gates belt - 12psi ~300whp on 92 ($150)

So that tacks on another $1500 or so, and i'm not quite done - i'd like to do a full gauge setup this year (but that's the beauty - i really don't HAVE to like if you have a turbo)

All that being said, will I sit here and say a S/C is better than a turbo? Nope - just my preference depending on what i want my car to do and what i like. And with the Vortech Kit, i still get that wicked BOV sound My Fav!
So I've actually been spending a good amount of time hashing out my opinion on this and I just went back to read what some of the fellas in here had to say. One thing you said really resonated with something that's kind of been in the back of mind through all the reading.

"predictable, linear powerband. For RWD, I don't want the rear wheels to hit a huge spike in power while i'm on the track."

I drove a friend's 400+hp rsx this past weekend and when the boost hits sh!t gets wild. No traction, the steering wheel goes everywhere and there is no sense of stability/safety.

If it were rear wheel drive and it got out from behind just a little that'd probably be pretry bad. Thinking of that on the track trying get out of a turn with some quickness that surge would definitely send you.

Granted, a ~450 fwd car is going to be a different world than a ~300 turbo RWD car but what you said still resonates. That spike would still likely kick the tail out of control.

My only question now is why Vortech over JRSC?
