And honestly focals are affordable if you look at the cost of a sub for the doors and then a 4 inch comp set. And honestly doing rears in this car is silly, so the money saved with no rears it goes towards the higher cost of the focals. For instance if the rears are not replaced then this isnt too far out of reach. Some of the best ive heard and what i have.

Don't get me wrong, Focal's are amazing, but I have been a long time fan of JL...used to have a sponsorship for my Supra back when they first unveiled the 13W7. I'm also a fan of keeping everything one brand...JL speakers, JL amps, JL wiring, etc. With that mindset, look at Focal amps and immediately things get stupid expensive. The other problem is that with the FRS/BRZ the car is horribly made for a Focal level system to shine without a huge amount of work insulating/deadening the cabin. I thought about moving up to Focal, but after pulling the panels of the interior out and seeing just how much I would have to do to justify the cost, I just decided to stick with what I have easily available. Now if I had a Benz...Focal all the way!

Yeah I've picked up a lot from this forum, I've been a tinkerer all my life though so it doesn't take much for me to understand how things work once i get my hands on the individual parts. Swapping that clutch gave me a huge eye opening experience about how the whole clutch system works, I've read books, seen pictures, and had people explain it to me, but until I had the parts in hand and could see how everything went together it didn't click. Now after having done that work, I can actually feel the individual parts of the clutch working, before it just felt like pressing down the clutch pedal. Now I can actually feel the release bearing compress the springs which pulls the friction disk off the clutch pucks...I know that sounds weird but I feel like I can diagnose clutch issues just by feel now. Hopefully the turbo install will give me similar insight into how the whole turbo setup actually works, because I still feel a little ignorant when it comes to the whole turbo thing.

I remember the first lutch I did. You are right it makes things "make sense" after doing one.

When it comes to subwoofers, my last 3 systems I've had MTX. Most places carry only the entry level cheap stuff though. You get what you pay for. I've also had several Polk audio component speakers and loved them. I would love to replace my components with Bang and Olufsen, they are some of the best I've heard.

Okay, so after inspecting my car after its most recent exterior detail, I've decided I've had it with this shitty paint and rock chips. As soon as I'm able, I'm getting the whole car wrapped. I'd like to have Eric @ LM do it so I can take a ton of pictures and so they'll have all the measurements and templates for other FRS people in the future. Let the convincing commence.

Registration for AZSolo Jan. 6th autox at Firebird International Raceway is now open.

If you have wet your feet at the Local Motors open house autox, it is time to jump into the pool.

We have instructors who will lend a hand, if you are a little leery. Generally, the instructors can help you get quicker quickly.

Also, I suggest doing TO runs in the afternoon if you register. They are cheaper than competition runs, and you will have chances to ride with the best and see how they do it.

I'm THINKING a gloss yellow, just to be different, though do some black accents (trunk piece above license plate, front bumper bits, roof maybe, keep the fender inserts I already did in black).
