Also helps that the 19" were also more comfy. Think it actually looks better with 19" too. But recorded lap times were slower with 19" than 20".

I just always liked a bit of meat to the tires. =)

19 x 10, 19 x 9 are more easily available and not exotic car tyre prices too.

Of course this is just from my experience and from talking to people around me, my group of friends and work mates are heavily into after market wheels... JDM types especially.
It was one of the BMI program "Ask Tsuchy" and they said which is buy expensive 20" tires or cheaper, but better & more option 19" tires. & BMI crew went several shops that had 19" wheels instead of 20" on GT-R. DK drove several of them and said they're nice & affordable. Also he said, it doesn't look bad either.

Yeah, no, a base model Mustang isn't running circles around this car. Not only is it heavier (by an estimated 700 lbs based off 2700 curb weight for FT), but its equipped with a solid rear-axle. The FT is also has a lower center of gravity and better weight distribution (Even if its not neutral).

If its done properly (good tuning on a balanced suspension to match the car from factory trim) there will be few cars out there, 2012 MY, that'll actually out corner the damn thing for its price range....few, maybe 1. All I can think of is the Miata.

The car is perfect now, I hope it can make it to production (I could live without the carbon fiber). The back of the car reminds me of an Infinity G37 for some reason.

i would like to see that part of the fender reduced in size. i don't want a large, flat, vertical section surrounding the wheel opening.

omg i just got home and looked at the real pics, I thought it was just the renderings earlier so i've gone all day without looking at em lol... WOW! I like it, gimmi1nao same color. The only thing that looks a little off is the front fenders from the side shot look like they stick up WAY high compared to the hood but from the upper angles doesnt look too bad

As for the car, I think it's an extreme of what can be possible for the car, and we'll end up with a nice in-between of the mk.i and mk.ii

EDIT :: before I left for lunch (about 10 min ago) we had 4660+ users online here on FT86club.com browsing the general forums, it is now 10:23 and we have 4356 users online. Go Forum go!

Or whine about how the needs to be able to beat V6's and v8's in straight lines to be worth its share of money.

You guys don't get it: Your views do not represent those of enough people in the population.

It doesn't matter if you think it can be underpowered so long as it slides well -- it's not going to sell unless it can keep up with other similarly priced cars in the direction the wheels are facing -- period.

I'm a fan, but I'm not blind to reality.

All those people logging on to get flamed and leave -- yeah, those are potential customers giving up on what they fear will be another lackluster "sporty" car by Toyota.

Toyota is wasting their time if this is designed to be an upgrade from a Civic or a Koupe -- wrong era; not enough of a market.

There's no point in competing with the Miata...

If it's priced between a 'stang and a Z, it's going to have to demonstrate performance numbers that put it in that ball park.

I would rather have 17s or even 16s than 18s.

anyway, that part only people who have already driven an AE86 can understand it, only people who experienced the high revving, no hp, no torque but soooooooooooooooooo fun to floor of 4AGE can say: a Mustang, I'll get back in front of it after it slammed in the trees at the first corner...

Sorry, but I'm not buying that. I am not blind to reality either.

So you're telling me all those young ppl gonna go beat up old Civic and straight to brand new Z or Stange? There's no between?

Yes, some that maybe the case... but I don't believe that. If that's the case, why in the hell base model Genesis, newer Civic Si, Mazda3 & all early mid $20k~$25k cars?

Which one sound better? Pay over $35k to by stock sports car... or pay under $30k and you have change to spend on whatever.
