For me it's 10/10.
This car got a lot of the important things right. Steering feel Seating Position Seats Brakes Handling!!! RWD Small body Lightweight Sexy Classic RWD sports car shape! Low CoG Revvy smooth motor with some torque around 3k Transmission!! Purposeful interior I have also spruced up the interior with Alcantara/CF/Aluminum Trim and I have plans to buy a 4.88 FD. So my negatives are easy to fix(more torque and nicer interior trim) |

I know this thread is kind of old but I will throw in my 2 cents. This is after 5 months of ownership and 11k miles on the ODO.
Pros: 1: Looks stellar 2: Excellent gas mileage 3: Handles amazingly well 4: Changed interior fabric on the 15s 5: OEM sound system is nice 6: Seats fit like a glove 7: Easy to maintenance once you do the initial oil change Cons: 1: Cramped, I am 6' 1" 2: No center arm rest (I realize the car is made for driving and that's just what I do as my daily round trip is 160 miles) 3: Terrible headlight output 4: Prius tires from the factory 5: No auto dim mirror (from a sub $27k car it should come standard) 6: Resale value .. car is 5 months old and worth $5k less than I paid and is in immaculate condition 7: Pickup is slow as molasses unless you are in the 5k+ rpm range 8: Overall it's slow 9: Loud and clunky, on my 2nd TOB and the blower motor won't stop chirping I am at a 5/10 I suppose. Car isn't worth what I paid .. aside from #1 and #6 all the cons can be fixed with aftermarket. I should have went with a Z. |

I like it, it's a good car. Very well balanced and compact and fairly rigid. On a good day with fresh tarmac it's a lot of fun and stable to drive. The sound is pretty alright when you get revs up over 6500, the engine winds pretty good then.
As a DD, its livable. The cabin is spacious, it has good seats seats, automatic windows, decent infotainment. It is safe and has a good crash rating and all the necessary traction control features. It's just small and doesn't have a lot of torque, so your applications for DD are limited more to being a usable 2 seater with some cargo space. Negatives: it's a bit slow and bumpy and loud, other cars are faster and easier getting around. The paint and durability are only a 3/5, the reliability is also 3/5, and there are more chirps and rattles in this car to irritate you. Long term DD ownership @ 20k miles/year is costly, and part of that is due to the more complicated boxer engine. Last edited by radroach; 11-04-2015 at 09:27 AM. |

Its not fast. It doesn't come with arm rest. It has "prius" tires. Its small however I've seen many 6' + owners fit comfortably. Resale value, with ANY new car derp. Its not a luxury car, its a cheap RWD 2+2 JDM YO modern day 90s true driving sports car.

getting close to 10month of ownership.
weird thing is, I wasn't 100% sold on frs. I was expecting to get wrx or mustang gt. But after while ended up getting frs. First few month of ownership, I would have mood swings, I thought I bought a wrong car. Next day I drive my car and go "heh, not bad at all." So far I have cusco front n rear strut. E85 tune, I think I can live with this car. All of past cars owned, I loved them first and fire would slowly go away. Selling it or trade it without 2nd thought. It's like seeing your ex passing by and you go "whatever." But frs is little different to me. I kinda hated it at first but now she is almost at door of my heart. Would rate it 7.5/10 Last cars were rated : Fg2 7/10 350z 6.5/10 Sw20 8/10 Ep3 7/10 (gatta love that shifter) |

Blindspots are a bitch but after rexspeed wide angle mirrors and a 300mm Broadway it is a bit better. Oh, I came from a 1998 corolla lol |

How satisfied are you with your FR-S/BRZ?
I find the side view mirror coverage excellent. Short car plus big mirror equals no blind spot. The only visibility issue I have is a single intersection on my route from the MTB trails. I'm entering the main road at a 45 degree angle to the left and the passenger C pillar blocks my view of people coming from the right.

A lot ppl talked about this, but when I go to Asian forum most ppl said a simple trans stiffening insert would fix it. 70 buck fix like the Cusco one. I think someone here with this problem should try it then report back. 👍 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My biggest gripes have less to do with the car, and more to do with the service department at the dealership I purchased from. Would I buy again? Probably, but it'd only be a Monogram or an RS. But for that money, there's a lot of other options. While they may not produce the same "feel", they'll be bigger, comfier, more practical, better equipped, etc. Not knocking the car, as it's equipped with all I really cared for, but it's nice to have the "extras". |
