I'd be curious to hear how either sounds on an Invidia N1. Anyone with this combo yet?

Is anybody coating their header? I'm used to seeing that as a major concern in other header threads but can't recall seeing anyone here saying they were having theirs coated or that they were even concerned about it.

How exactly do you run this (or any catless header) without throwing a CEL with a stock tune??
I remember reading using washers. But, how many, how thick, and does that really work 100%? Are there any links and instructions on how to do this? Of course a tune would be best....but I would rather get a physical hardware part first and also not everyone can afford a $900 tune right away and it'll take a bit of time to save up for a tune...so for the mean time..that washer trick would be nice. |

A spacer definitely helps with tricking the ecu to not throw the CEL. Fortunately when my header was installed, my mechanic threw in an spacer for free to trick the ECU from popping a CEL light. I drove over 100 miles without a tune. Being untuned, I wouldn't say it killed the dip entirely, but it definitely shortened the dip and made the torque slightly more progressive. With that said, I still ordered an Open Flash Tablet just to be safe and not have my engine blow up in the near future. With the OFT and the UEL Header, I can assertively say that the torque dip is no more and is something of the past. The torque and power is super progressive and linear now!
