Funny somebody asked me why I have more than 10 pairs of shoes. You only got two feet?! Yeah, back in the day when I was kid save money I'd get to choose one pair for the whole year and they would get messed at the end so I'd get another for the following year. Ever since I'd bought up different several pairs and not worn the same shoes every day my shoes are never worn out for 4-5 yrs which actually saved me more. Just happens I started to like shoes and started to collect along the way. I think this is common.

I said I was going to pass, but at 0520 last Saturday I went ahead and placed an order through NDC. Shipped and got the Retro Laney in the mail yesterday. Below are my OG and the Retro.

Damn, your OG's are clean though. The retros didn't come out that bad either. I probably should have jumped on them but oh well.

Thanks, I am not disappointed on the quality of the pebbled-full grain leather. A bit stiff but once it's worn in the material should soften up. I only stopped wearing the OG three years ago when the midsole on the inside triangle/chevron accent started to crack. I have the Laney Sixty Plus as a donor shoe but have been lazy, then the news of the Retro came out.

Even though the quality of JB sneakers has gone down, the V's seem to be above par than the rest of the retros in my opinion.

I have the V grapes and the fire red 3M tongue, and the quality doesn't really seem to be that great to me. I miss the days when the leather would be so thick, it would bulge out at the stitching like on those OG Laneys! The leather on the toe cap is so stiff and cardboard like, it makes me sad. Plus the material on the ankle looks to be just be some kind of synthetic!
I'm really thinking of getting some OGs or something and just getting them sole swapped, seems like there's quite a few guys doing that service now. |

Since you memtioned this, I have a pair of 2000 Black Metallics you might be interested in. I did my own restoration on the heels but the fronts are now starting to crumble.
