thought I would use this thread since I'm trying to check with canadians version of the GR86. I wonder if the car comes with the radars on the bumpers? i have seen pictures of the rear bumpers with the radar and without, but I can't see it listed on the spec (the one that tells you the car is backing up close to object and I guess it will beep)

The automatic transmission version have it. The manual do not.

You aren't missing much, any allocation is nearly always spoken for at the dealer receiving it thanks to deposits/waiting lists.

Manual dont have the thingy in the bumper but still beep if you get to close to thing when backing up.

so it's been 3 months since i ordered mine, i have been trying to reach my dealer (on email) and just touch base and want to make sure my order, which was a 2022, would be updated automatically to a 2023. no response at all. Is that normal?

It has been my experience that people trying to sell you something are very responsive so no not "normal" at all!
If you are not getting an answer from an individual that you are emailing either go in person or try somebody else at the dealership. That person may be long gone and your emails are going into ethernet limbo or something.

At the end of May orders were changed over to 2023, keeping priority, then dealers had to manually confirm the changeover

I ordered mine in April, still no joy.

During this time they had one AT in red at the dealer, I passed.

might that be the rear cross traffic alert?

According to Toyota.ca the Premium models both AT and MT have blind spot monitor + rear cross traffic alert. Base models AT and MT do not.

and AT only models get the rest of the safety suite (Im guessing its the Subaru Eyesight version, and not the Toyota Safety Sense version)
