On another note, just dropped off my car at Round Rock Scion for it's first oil change at 5k and get a TRD quick shifter installed. I was too lazy to mess with it on jack stands.
I'm due for oil change #3. I want my Fumoto valve on though.

Those Fumotos look super convenient. I may get one after my 3 oil changes, but I've been too worried about scraping/cracking it when I'm lower.

It doesn't hang low enough at all. Your rear exhaust connections would hit a speed bump before the valve would. If your valve hits anything, you probably broke an axle. Even with my 1.6" drop, that valve will be fine.

Thinking of going air. It'd be hilarious (in retrospect) to park, lay frame, then see a puddle of oil when I air up and leave

But good point on the rear connections. I'll probably just go ahead and get one after my 3rd oil change anyway!

Could do the top route as well if you go with the pump option, may do that for the apartment, slight cleaner, but more expensive.

I got the one with the nipple connection and the clear hose. Makes it a lot cleaner. Turn the valve and go back inside for an hour.

I'm not a fan of extracting oil from the top - would prefer to let gravity do its thing in getting all the filament and shaving out. Plus, cheaper

What are you referring as "the carb kit"?

Jackson Racing sells an off the shelf tuned kit that is CARB legal (emissions standard in California) that is an off the shelf "safe" tune, keeps stock exhaust components, and has a good amount of abuse by the counterspace garage guys. Obviously FI always has risks, but the kit so far hasn't had much in the way of problems, other than some small install issues that people have had. No Forced Induction is without problems, even their kit I'm sure. But so far it seems solid, and would meet any potential goals I'd be going for.

I am sad @frs-Matt isn't going to S/C still

That decision isn't final. I just got promoted at work so things may swing in my favor. It's a safe amount of horsepower for it to not be risky with the car.

just installed my fumoto on my FJ.. will say that it when changing the oil I again realized why I invested in a fumoto. man those things are convenient.

not sure how much it sticks out on the Fr-s, but I got one for it too. only at 8k miles, so won't need it till probably the end of the year
