I chose the FR-S on price and because the BRZ, with the premium features, did not include anything performance related. They would essentially handle the exact same which is all I care about. With the money I saved, I was able to immediately turn that around and purchase useful upgrades like a new set of summer tires and wheels as well as a winter set (Canada).

I like almost all the options in the Limited compared to the FRS. To put it differently, if the Limited didn't exist in the BTZ lineup, and the only choice was between the FRS and BRZ Premium, it would have been a coin toss for me. Actually, the FRS probably would have won because I like my local Toyota dealer.

Love the looks of the BRZ. I didn't even consider the Scion. I was a happy owner of a 2010 5spd manual Impreza. Subaru sent me a letter one day and told me they'd like me to consider trading the Impreza for something new. I was very happy with the deal, and must say this is the 1st sports car I've owned. I just love it! The BRZ is every bit as enjoyable as my Yamaha FZ8 in the corners.

Because the One series wasn't available at launch. I've grown to love the BRZ front over the 86 but I initially loved the led eye lids

#1. Wanted the Limited trim (much nicer interior).. but of course FR-S has Monogram Series now (very limited production, but still).
#2. The Suby dealer near me is THE best new car dealer of any I've visited, at least in terms of buying experience.

Scion Dealership:

-Wouldn't budge at all on MSRP, due to flat pricing scheme. Even when I offered to pay MSRP they wouldn't throw in anything as part of the deal.
-Wouldn't give me a straight answer on OEM warranty and SCCA activities
-I felt a little bit pressured

Subaru Dealership:

-Gave me a discount and first two oil changes on the house
-Gave me a honest, straight answer about OEM warranty and SCCA activities
-No pressure at all
-Staff was really cool and were easy to talk shop about cars with
-World Rally Blue + HID's + Navigation + Nicer seats

I test drove the FR-S first and was considering buying the FR-S strongly before talking to the Subaru staff and made the purchase a day or two later.

It's the little stuff.

Heated seats - the irony being I may end up not driving in the winter (house shopping where I'd be walking to the train vs driving...)

The HID and keyless entry/start also weighed in - they'd be tough to give up.

I had no sense of how much I'd like the automatic climate control or dual zone features.

Also, price flexibility. I paid below invoice.

Plus, I wanted AWD.

Pretty much only because "toggle" switches.

The alcantara, fogs, and other stuff in the sport-tech are nice too lol

Oh, and IMO the front end is much nicer.

Sexy spoiler and fog lights! Also push to start and the interior in this car is A LOT better than the FRS. I do prefer the front bumper of the FRS over the BRZ though but some how it just grew onto me and I actually like it now.

this and the fact im not paying for 6 years of my life for a SCION. im paying for a good brand... subaru. Lol.

plus the brz i feel is like the grown up version lol

Well if i did fork out the extra money for a BRZ it would be purely because then all the subaru emblems and badges on every bit of the car would not look out of place because the car would be badged a subaru, but thats about it for me.
