Your the only turbo car I've tuned with no upgraded map sensor. When I tuned you in person I told you that you had to get a upgraded sensor ASAP.

I've done something in your mapping to help prevent explosion if the load get too high...

Since then you asked me about it but never got one?

THANKS John @Visconti. Literally saved my motor last night. Car boosted to 13 psi at about 5K RPMs (it happens so fast, my eyes only saw up to 9 in the gauge) and hit overboost protection and it would just NOT go any higher.

Any of the Turbo guys, you NEED Overboost protection, I could have been another sad story today.
sounds like another turbo install gone wrong averted..

any ecutek tune can have this, I havent overtly checked with Perrin on what he has me running at the track, but overboost just isnt a concern in my setup with a SC

It can be if you ever decide to go wastegated

I was saying I think John is the only one who utilizes it, not that he's the only one who can.

Yeah, its either the MBC is installed backwards or the Actuator is shut down too tight.

The overboost happened a long time ago on the Full Blown basemap when I was experimenting with my wastegate hose routing. I am ordering a MAP sensor tonight after talking with David last night, so when you send me my new ROM with more timing you can put boost cuts in. I should have my new 9.8 psi wastegate spring this week as well.

Connect a pump (even a bicycle pump with a gauge) and apply pressure to the wastegate nipple. Observe the wastegate actuator arm. Make sure it is opening at the correct psi. If that works then the problem might be the boost controller or the vac line going to the gate.

Gauge accuracy COULD cause problems with this, but it is a VERY good idea.

I have had nightmarish problems with internal wastegates. I once had an internally gated turbo where the flapper door was not able to open more than 30% because of machining tolerances being off......... Boost spiked up to 24 psi when we first boosted on the dyno. Luckily it was a 9:1 CR motor lol.

@Visconti

Hi John! i am finally ready to order my tune. ive been driving my car around for a couple of days with the wastegate open to make sure that everything was good and working properly with no oil or coolant leaks. A friend of mine has an ecutek cable so i wont need one for now.

I tested my wastegate actuator on the bench and it starts to open at 7.5psi and is fully open at 8psi. i also have a 4 bar map sensor. I always run on 91octane but if i need to run 94 i can get access to it as well. I am using stock injectors for now... i believe that 8 psi was the limit for these but correct me if i am wrong. i also have no catalytic converter between my 2 o2 sensors so i dont know if you can do something about it... i currently have a cel because of that. i would also like to have launchcontrol if possible!

please hit me up soon with all the info that you need and where to send you the funds! i would like to chip the car this comming saturday!!

sincerely,
Max
