What weight, you mean the go kart? Seriously though, I had to put my spare back in the trunk as I felt it was too light in the rear (but again I have more than 300bhp so I put quite a bit of power on the ground)

Maybe you were his conjoined twin that was removed at birth.. but Stig retained all of the driving skills.

For the same reason guys painted Model Ts colours other than black, ran straight pipes from their flat head 8, chopped the roof on their car by 6 inches or any other cosmetic mod or add on ever. Because they wanted too. In my day you tried to drop the front on the smallest tires you could find while putting things a steam roller would be proud of on the back. The big tire fad will fad again some day.

Lol rotational mass helps you brake better and light the tires up a little easier (not a good thing lol) and the unsprung weight you lose helps all your suspension work more effectively giving you more grip

Don't get me wrong they do look great, but the waste of money and cost of tires vs a smaller package seems well wasteful in my eyes just for a look.
