NA is still tons 'o fun at the track. Flex fuel is something i MIGHT do someday when i get used to / bored with the straight S/C power. i'm thinking i should be able to hit 300 at the wheels after tune / header.

The Cosworth stuff looks really nice - I like the OEM type look to everything.

Hey I was looking at your build thread and was wondering how your brakes are holding up at BIR? I get up there 3-4 times a year myself. I will be putting on a Jackson Racing supercharger before spring and think I may need a brake upgrade for the track.

Thanks.

Brakes have been fantastic on the Road Course. The stock rotors and calipers really are just fine for most enthusiast track days. The Carbotech XP10 (front) and XP8 (rear) have lasted two seasons so far (8 lapping days).

The only downside is they don't have the initial bite i'd like for AutoX - but that's ok since AutoX isn't my focus at BIR, just more fun to have.

A big brake kit or something is probably pretty far down on my list right now.

I plan on going with the same setup, unless you would recommend something different for autox... Other than a big brake kit. I'm going to wait til next year for that.

Yup, Stock with Castrol SRF. I was mostly on the long course last year which give the brakes a good chance to cool down. With more power i think I will be braking more and harder

I may have to try those. I had pretty good luck with carbotech before (different car, 2005 GTO). I did find that once I got into using the xp10's hard I had heat issues that boiled the fluid. In the end I ended up going with a big brake kit and cooling later.

How are those for noise on the street? I always had noise issues with the xp 10's

Do you know Todd from Tracktime Motorsports?

I would buy the same pads again, for sure.

I don't know Todd. A few of my friends up here do, and I think they went to one of the events last year.

I of course got RBF600 and steel lines in addition to the pads, and haven't had any heat issues. Granted, a BRZ is way easier to stop than a GTO lol, plus Brainerd isn't really a brake heavy track.

On the streets, the are LOUD, dusty any annoying. I just put them on for track days and take them off when i get home, and just go back to stock.

My setup is dusty but not overly loud on the street. The fluid and lines helped huge.

The search continues...
Hello there, it's been super long time since I have been online here. I bought a 2011 wrx STi a couple of weeks ago and I'm debating to sell my 2013 Asphalt FR-S (6 M/T) having 13k miles on it. It's pretty much stock except for perrin intake, TRD exhaust and perrin light weight crank pulley. I have never used the car during winters hence why it is in garage right now. Let me know if you are interested!

Last night heading towards the 94W tunnel at about 10PM.

About to enter the 94W tunnel. The sign shows the middle two lanes being blocked.

Police lay down some flares to block the right lane.

See this 20 feet ahead.

Use the proper tires for the proper conditions.

I basically have a brand new set of Project Mu Club Racers front and rear track pads. Used for one session at DCTC. Sold the BRZ and the other cars can't fit them. Will let them go for a reasonable price. Let me know if you're interested.

OK that's what I thought about those pads. You are right both about the 3700 pound GTO and BIR. The GTO was hard on brakes, especially if I was driving real hard.

I find especially on the long track I am not that hard on the brakes. After turn 3 I really don't use them that much until turn 10. On the long track they get a good chance to cool down as well.

I am figuring with more power I will be needing to brake more. I would love to get by with some brake cooling and good fluid/upgraded pads.

I may be interested, I will have to look into those pads.
