Too bad about your cars engine problems. Would you care to expand on that? I hope they get it fixed soon. humfrz |

Hi all! New guy from California here. Don't have an FR-S yet but I'm saving for one and hope to have one around Christmas time.
A bit (or alot) about me, currently working part time and waiting to start trucking school so I can drive big rigs. I'll start driving on my 21st birthday and my girlfriend and I plan to move to Vegas in November to save cash in rent. We both have old cars, hers an 01 civic, mine an 05 1.8 Sentra, and I promised her I'd buy her a newer car before I buy an FR-S for me. She says Altima but I wanna get her what she really wants, an STI hatch (shh don't tell her!). My Sentra is my first car, had it since Spring 2011. After I started working part time I put parts into it. When it was finished, it was pretty damn quick. At my local track I'd beat every other car there, including the odd FR-S, but most miatas still had an edge over me. Then got a $500 speeding ticket and put the car back to stock. I didn't like the twins at first, thought they looked a bit futuristic and expensive for the amount of power (like most people). But over several weeks I grew to like it after reading more about how it's a back-to-basics sports car and the spiritual successor to the AE86. I test drove one a couple weeks ago and absolutely fell in love with it! I've never had more fun driving a car at 30mph in traffic! It symbolized everything that I wanted in a car and I almost signed the contract right there! So yeah, that's kinda my story. It's gonna be a long time til I get the car but while I wait, I hope to make some friends and learn more things on here ![]() Here's what my Sentra looks like now, what it was, and a vid of me around the track with it. Hi everyone. I'm anson in Honolulu, HI. I come from Miatas,s2000s, Rx-7s, 240sxs, and other cool cars (like my missed Honda element!)
I was either SurfAndSand or wileEcoyote on Miata.net, s2ki, scionlife, or elementownersforum.com In any case, I finally gave in to my urge to get a sporty car again after 5 years of practicality. I paid for a 10 series tonight, and will be taking delivery sometime later this week hopefully. I hope this forum is as cool as helpful and friendly as the other the forums. Aloha! |

Congrats, and welcome! So far, this is the best experience I've ever had from a forum, as far as the douche:helpful ratio goes.

I think a lot of it has to do with the car still being new and the market not being saturated with infinity <$10k specimens yet (not that that will be happening any time soon). Plus, most people buying this car know exactly what they're getting and have been anticipating it for years. So the community in its current state is very good.
I've seen a lot of people on here ask "dumb" questions and not be completely shunned to the point where they probably cry and never log on again like I've seen happen countless times on other forums. I hope the friendliness and maturity level lasts forever, while still being able to make fart jokes and have the kinds of ridiculous threads that are all over in the Off Topic forum.

Hi
I've been following this forum for a while now, and i finally decided to join up. As my username states the Fr-s is driven by both father and son. But the dad claims he's to old to be on forums . But of course the father is paying for the car. Driving this car spoils me, as i am only 16 years old,(going on 17), and just the whole feel of this car is remarkable. Son will be active on the forums. I just thought i would say hi and introduce myself to what seems to be a very established community.

Tell him to suck it up and get to posting. We've got a few members in their 60s on here anyway.

![]() Well, you picked a good car to return to "fun driving"! Yep, as with the miata.net forum, this place can be very informative. Lots of good info within the "stickies". I've found this gang a bit "younger" than miata.net .... so, don't be thin skinned .... ![]() humfrz |
