I would buy Dunlop ZII, Hankook RS3, and BFG Rival before those Falkens. I would prob even buy the Kumho XS over those as well.

Also looking for a better set of 225/45/17, keep the recommendations coming I'm trying to see if I could get a second set of wheels/tires for autox/trackdays before MLS in 2 weeks.

Yeah I think the ones Blaine mentioned are the industry leaders for all-out performance/grip for a reasonable price.

If cost is a concern/you want cheaper ... I am not 100% sure they are available in 17" but I got the Federal 595 RS-Rs in 18"... good all around tire designed to compete in the same categoryl. Very good dry grip, haven't tried them in wet yet. I've heard they don't like too much heat on the track, but I really only expect to do track days maybe 3 times a year. The rest of the time these are great... the downside is low treadwear rating/short life.

The other brands I like, I have their older versions on my other cars but no experience with the newer versions. Bridgestone Pole Position S-03/S-04, Toyo T1R/T1S.

I'm actually thinking of going wheel/tire shopping this weekend, any good local places? Just worried that it'll take to long if I ordered online

Tirerack gets them to you next day if they come from Reno. And thats regular ground shipping.

I guess Im a cheap ass though. Im leaning toward ventus v12, but also considering Sumitomo htr z iii and kumho spt. The kumho i know squel though though not sure on those really. Tread life is equal to grip in my book. Price just a little bit behind.

Hate to say it but don't buy locally as you'll have to pay tax and that just adds to the price of the tires. As finch said, shipping through tirerack is next day so go that route

The RE-11's are better for daily driving.

Alright, that's 2 votes for the potenzas I was originally planning on going close to stock width, but now the more I read, the wider I'm starting to look. Seems like 235 is a good middle ground, having trouble trying to figure out weights though...

I saw the DII's on stock wheels at the last Autox... They fit, barely... 225's will be just fine with either those or the RE-11's unless you are trying to be super competitive in an Auto-x stock class.

ZIIs. RE11s are way overpriced.

Most people is stock class are running 235s on the stock wheel.
