You are probably going to need to articulate your point more than that. As I already mentioned, they've won almost every snow, ice and wet braking and lateral grip (non-studded) comparison test. The only tires to edge them out were Nokians.

I'll add, that I have no idea how they managed to place 2nd. I've been driving in Canadian winters for over 20 years, and have always run dedicated winter tires, and i HATE my Xi3s. I would liken them to all seasons.

Typically rubber on asphalt or rubber on concrete is quoted, but types of tires and types of surfaces vary greatly, so specific values are not easy to find. Also, water tends to change the temperature of the surfaces and acts as a heat sink, so normalizing the conditions with dry conditions is not easy.

I was only clarifying that the best wet tires are summer tires. All season will do worse in the rain than summer tires. Snow, deep wet, sand or offroad/dirt tires are a different deal.

I’m not really commenting on AWD versus FWD.

The car has been out for almost 2 years and production isn't limited. Avoiding dealer markup at this point should be easy.

I've used XI1 before and I must admit they lost their ability fairly quickly over time (they were amazing when brand new). They ended up feeling worse in the snow than Continental DWS all seasons at some point (after like 3-4 winters I think).

I do keep hearing that Nokian Hakkapelita are the best for winter, even though they don't top the charts

The CTR has taken Canadians by storm. It's such a wanted car here, it's like Subaru's. Canadians are so damn brain washed that dealers have no problem moving them at basically any price. I still can't even get a test drive going in alone as a young guy, despite driving in with a car I own.. (mind you I haven't been trying very hard)
