Today at work my favorite beater watch broke. It was an old old old Casio that I always wore to work as one of my nice watches would be quickly scratched and beaten to hell at the job. So, now I need to buy another beater or else my wrist feels naked all the time.

If only the damn thing broke about a week ago so I could've actually given my mom a quality idea of an actual useful gift for me for once instead of my usual "I need cologne and candy."

I gave up trying to wear a watch many years ago. I could never get comfortable; was always yanking on it, adjusting it, twisting it around on my wrist. I suffered for years until I realized "Hey, I can just ditch this POS!"

I'm also not a fan of watches, and always caught shit for it from my time with the army, especially as a gun det 2ic on a howitzer.

Then, when I went on my Primary Leadership Qualification course, I decided to get a pocket watch, because I had to be able to tell the time (or feel the wrath of a red chit). To which I stupidly replied "first sir, I'm a bombardier, not a corporal, and no, I just don't like wearing watches".

That was a fun charge parade to be on straight out of the field haha
