More pics from this morning. Looking down into oak creek. The roads were pretty much perfect. All the private raids and ass stations were complete ice still.

I would take the baffles out and put the resonator back on. You will have a deep smooth tone and no drone. The stock resonator flows good too if your worried about that.

OK,
My car has the idle dip, osillating idle, backfires through the intake manifold when cold (sometimes), chirping from the HPFP, popping noise from the rear deck, and now condensation in the tail light.

These are all intermittent, and cannot reliably reproduce any of them, except for the condensation.

I have not taken the car in, because i can find no evidence that Toyota/Subaru have really fixed the issues.

I love the car, but these are a lot of problems for a brand new car.

I have been tempted to have the HPFP issue fixed, only to have it come back, and have it fixed over and over until i can lemon law the car.

I have no CEL, but all the symptoms.

I am really growing tired of the issues and am seriously thinking of getting rid of the car.

Help me decide guys.

Wow that sucks man, I keep thinking I got a good one out of the batch because I've only had to deal with the HPFP and now i just live with it. I'd record the the idle and backfiring next time it occurs and bring that in to Scion if you can't replicate it at the dealer it's how i got them to do my HPFP when they first started getting reported.

Zorro,
I would take it in and have them address the issues. If it happens again, take it back again. At least then, you can start talking lemon with them. This is why we have factory warantees.

The BMW n54 engines (x35 cars) had a lot of issues with HPFPs. The 135 I had was on its 3rd pump when I got rid of it. I put a small camera in the glove box. When I would see the signs of an issue, I recorded it with the camera. when I took it in I could show them the issue, vs waiting for them to find/see it. BMW did decide to warantee the HPFP for 10 years. Not the greatest answer, but at least I knew I was covered over the time I expected to own the car.

I have more belief that Subaru/Toyota will find more permanent fixes, than BMW did.

I am sorry to hear about the issues you are having. I had a lot of issues with the 135. But, as soon as I got in and drove it I would forget about them all. I got rid of the car, because Chapman BMW pissed me off.

Most important thing is to get the documentation. It may be a pain but take it in literally every time you have an issue. The dealers I went to usually could not duplicate an issue until I had to be right there with them to point things out or go on test rides with them.

I know your frustration. I have had literally every issue posted on the forum with my car. But every time I get it back I love it all over again.

The documentation will help with lemon law or just compensation from Toyota. Open a case with scion of America. Another option they gave me was possibly just getting me another frs but that was going to take a while.

I wouldn't know if I had most of those issues, maybe I'm just unobservant or I got a great one. Try using your cell phone video recorder to catch stuff in real time as documentation?
