Just got back from the store from buying two mountain bikes for the granddaughters to use at our house. Oh, yes, that was ma-ma's idea. I need to fix her i-pad so she can't get on the internet anymore ......
Anyway, 23", girls, mountain bikes, 15 speed. Yes, 15 speeds! Now, when I was a kid, we had 1 speed bikes; then when my kids were kids, they had 3 speed bikes ..... then 10 speed bikes. NOW, they have 15 speed bikes ....... WHY .. ?? ..... Oh, I guess it just goes along with automobile automatic transmissions ...... 2 speed to 4 speed to 6 speed to 8 speed. Now, pa-pa has to put them together ...... yep, they came in a box ...... with a picture on the outside with a woman in high heels holding an adjustable wrench a pair of pliers and a screwdriver ...... piece of cake ...... right ...... humfrz |

So, the Liquor Control Board of Ontario decided it would be an awesome idea to start to put a few craft beers into a mystery bag and put these mystery bags up for sale. I've never got one because I didn't want to get beers I've already had, when I can actually just look at the stock in the store and get what I haven't tried before.
Well, today, since I'd had everything already that the liquor store had in stock, I decided I'd be up for a surprise. Cause who doesn't love craft beer, right? Boy, was I ever WRONG. I ended up getting tall cans of PBR, Old Milwaukee, Old Milwaukee Ice and a Busch Ice. I am so incredibly disappointed in this that I've resorted to getting in touch with the LCBO to let them know that their employees need to give their god damn collective heads a shake. |

They're labeled as craft beer mystery bags. In what world are those beers considered craft? I'm not overly upset about the PBR or the regular old Mill, since they're ok shower beers. But the other two I won't touch

In another thought, this solidifies my thinking that Quebec has it figured out. In Montreal (and probably the rest of the province, but I've never stopped to look anywhere else) they have boutique shops dedicated to craft beer. When you go into one, you're greeted by a person or two who is genuinely passionate about good beer and will give you more suggestions than you could possibly ever need. This is in stark contrast to LCBO Union fucks who have told me "IBU is a measure of how strong the beer is"
They are so lucky they have a monopoly on liquor in Ontario. I'd way rather go to a grocery store to get beer and liquor. Too bad they throw fits about not having the monopoly which has made the government slow down the roll out to grocery stores. |

I admit I'm probably on the snobbier end of the spectrum, but I'd rather hear someone tell me they don't know, but will find someone who does than talk out their ass and look like a fool. Generally I don't need help shopping for beer in Ontario, but when I ask about new stock and hear things like "this beer was just released and we're the first LCBO to get ahold of it" when I've had that exact beer multiple times in the past just gets my goat
