I took it around the Nurburg last night with Sport Soft tyres, upped the brakes to 7. Ran a 7:17 (would have been a 7:16 if not for rubbing the inside of the last corner and causing the rear to break loose).

No, this was a test run. I didn't change anything except for the traction control to 0. It handles exceptionally well in stock form.

I think most of that had to do with the proposal to make the FT-HS a hybrid (hence "Future Toyota Hybrid Sports).

And for all the talk about how the GT-R "inspired" this profile, I submit that the 2000GT is the true source of that look.
If anything, the GT-R can be said to have copied that (and in a rather unattractive way, I might add)

The 2000GT is brilliant and obviously a huge influence on Toyotas current direction trying to recapture something legendary but to not give credit where it's due is nearly criminal in my mind given how much was 'borrowed'. And props if someone can figure out which Ferrari inspired the Jag, I'm drawing a blank and my google fu is failing me.

The 2GR is an interesting creature IMO. 83mm stroke is really really short for a motor that goes into Siennas. I wonder what would happen if you built it to go to 9000rpm. That's kind of my dream car right now, an Evora or Exige S (with supercharger removed) and built NA 2GR.
