I never realized this was even an option. I might have to look into this myself. And also I love the hyperblue interior colors. (But I wonder if I can only say that because I'm so securely in love with my RS2.0's... )
Believe me man I freaking love the RS 2.0 and everything about it. I struggled many nights debating to either get a HyperBlue or RS 2.0. Obviously now I've made my choice for a variety of reasons but I still always think back to what if. I see your in LA by the way. We should meet up some time. I'd love to check the RS 2.0 out in person!

So my sister did a little photo shoot for me today. Just wanted to share a picture or two. I hope they are not to big for the thread.

Sorry. I don't know why this has to be posted separately. I tried to post in one post.

Would actually be down for that, especially since I've never seen the hyperblue interior up close, and since every other frs/brz I see in LA never so much as turn their heads to say hello!

I work in downtown; one of my co-workers really loves the 86 (drives a 350z), but I bet he'd like to take a look at your hyperblue too :P. I've heard a lot of people shit on the HyperBlue (on the ft86 subreddit mostly) but I LOVE that color. Only 500 made, too...iirc

I hear you man. Well I work all throughout the superior courts in LA County so I occasionally am in DTLA but more often than not I am in the Southeast region (Bellflower, Downey, Whittier, etc.) Yup only 500 made. Believe me I have gotten grief for the color but surprisingly many people like it as well. I've heard many say it grows on them. I definitely will have to check that subreddit haha!

So I looked into the part a little more, apparently it comes from the JDM Subaru Sport Package. Their interior is similar in color to the RS2.0. Full alcantara dashboard... drool... I guess their interior color goes by "tan" whereas ours is "camel." I think they'd be close enough (if not the same color), especially on the stitching.

Looks like I'll probably be dropping the $80 for that piece because I feel like it'd add more continuity to the dash and that would make me so happy, haha. (Might end up getting some of their valenti-style tails while I'm at it...)

That's exactly the news I didn't want to hear... Because it means I'm going to be out that money pretty soon since I will HAVE to buy that piece too!

In a similar line of thinking, I haven't been able to find any part numbers for Lunar Storm painted body pieces. I'm not looking for anything crazy; I just wanted some spare tow hook covers so that I wouldn't feel bad drilling into them for a license plate relocation or a tow hook/GoPro mount.

Do I have to just buy another colour and paint it?

Haha, yeah... my birthday's up soon so maybe $400 isn't so bad a splurge for some mods that'll really brighten my day.

As for the Lunar Storm parts... I can't say for sure, but it'll probably be very, very difficult to find anything in our color. The only other car that I'm aware of that shares the same color is the Subaru Xv Crosstrek. But that's a real good question, especially for anyone looking at body kits.

For reference, the color code is H6Q. I only know this because I bought some touch-up paint from here recently. It's an extremely, if not exact, color match. Might even post pics if anyone's interested!

For some reason the forum is slaughtering linking lately. Here's the correct link from above
http://www.automotivetouchup.com/tou.../xv-crosstrek/

Desert Khaki is another color Toyota uses on trucks, so it's interesting that the color is so close but a different name, thanks for the heads up!

The car is actually listed as Desert Khaki in one of the internal vehicle request systems, according to some friends that work at Toyota Canada. I'll look at my bill of sale, but I could swear the colour code was actually KHAK. Maybe Desert Khaki is the Subaru paint name?

"Lunar Storm" sounds very... marketing-y. There is no concept of what that colour would even be just based on that name (honestly, I'd think more black/gray, since that's what the moon looks like). If you tell me it's "desert khaki", I can kind of picture a beigy, light tan sort of colour. It's kind of like when everything got marketed as "Extreme" this, or extreme that.

As long as they don't do the color again, I don't care what they call it

You're absolutely right on each point. Lunar Storm (much like 'Hot Lava'), is definitely a marketing name. Desert Khaki is indeed Subaru's name for the color.

I like thinking of lunar storm of a poetic description of the color, that seems to shift ever-so-slightly as different types of light hits the paint...
