I sincerely hope next year isn't another "vettel" show.

NOT looking forward to the new engine changes. V-6's sound like crap, especially turboed V-6's limited to 15K rpm.

Bigger KERS systems too, soon they'll have Huge Kers systems with lawnmower engines.

I think many folks who are looking forward to turbos just haven't been fans of F1 long enough.

I look back with fond memory of the turbo v6 era. Those were very good days for F1 (with the exception of death).

F1 2014: All aboard the 'power train' - new rules explained

Quote:
The cars that emerge at the end of January for the start of pre-season testing will look very different from those of the last few years - and they will be even more radically changed under the skin.

There are significant changes to the chassis regulations and even bigger ones to the engine, which together amount to probably the biggest change in rules in a lifetime.
Gonna be an interesting 2014 season!

In case you haven't heard about Schumi, hes now in critical condition for what was originally stated to be a non-life threatening injury.

Yeah, when I read earlier that he was conscious, but very combative--I knew it was worse than it seemed.

C'mon, Michael--you need to pull through this! I wasn't a Schumi fan, but this guy needs to make it!

I've been a fan of F1 for over 30 years. I remember the announcer saying "if there's anyone that can walk on water today, it's Ayrton Senna"! I remember the turbo cars, watching how they "rubber banded", catching up to the NA cars after the turns. I remember when there was a variety of engines in play, V6's, V8's, V10's, V12's.

With F1 having changed so much, almost into a "spec" class of racing, at least the sound of the high strung engines still remained, until next year.

No refueling, KERS, tires that wear out and keep drivers from driving all-out, and now RPM limited turbo V6's, I don't like the direction F1 is going, but I'm middle aged, and still wish we had unlimited racing like the old days like Class B Rally, Can Am, IMSA, and the 80's and 90's F1.

I just read about Michael Schumacher. I hope he pulls through.

While I've never been a MS fan, I've been watching the sport for 15 years or so. Even if you don't like an athlete, in this small of group of people who can actually make it to this level you get to know most of them very well. Like MS the longer they are in the sport the more you get to know them, even if you aren't their fan.

Regardless of your feelings for him in the sport, he was a legend in his own time. I hope he can somehow pull through this because it is not how he should go out.

I truly hope MS pulls through from this accident.

My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

I was an unabashed MS fan. Even though the Bridgestone/Ferrari years were a bit *snooze*, I was always a fan of MS and still am.

I hope this isn't how a champion goes out.
