Yep, I've lurked in that thread here and there. I could see the full system hitting $3,000 considering header is $1,500 and quality mid section isn't cheap either. Like with most things, gotta pay to play I guess.

I'm not averse to keeping the factory midpipe, since the resonator in it is fairly effective. The factory catback isn't restrictive to begin with, so swapping out the one section that'll make the most difference to tone (ie: the axle back) makes perfect sense to me. It's too bad there aren't really a lot of axle back offerings.

Someone on this board is claiming to make 221 wheel horsepower all motor, full bolt-ons. I'm not going to name who since I feel it'll be discovered rather quickly, but he's definitely talking big and acting boastful about it.

That custom made intake though. Gets +20hp just by sucking in that nice hot engine bay air from two different directions. Creates a nice vortex effect which must account for the increase.

This isn't the first time he's applied ricer math to a situation. For those keeping track at home, ricer math is the phenomenon that occurs when stupid people try to add the *advertised* gains from bolt-ons together to arrive at an estimated power level.

I could accept "ricer math" as an excuse but he doesn't even have that going for him this time. More like "I pulled numbers out of my ass" math.

"So i haven't had time to come on here and post, but a few months ago i broke 221whp with my brz. Car has full bolt-ons and e85. Runs a 13.75 sec 1/4 mile (i should be able to get that down to low 13's)
It was a blast having everyone on my back and busting my chops on my quest for the highest bolt-on na whp. 99% Of the ppl here said my parts wouldn't work, things like my big throttle body, air intake, headers, basically everything i custom made.
