It really does sound good by itself. I wonder what it sounds like with a catted aftermarket header. I imagine it should tone that volume down a little bit.

I already tire of road noise, I can't imagine the drone that gets produced with some setups.

I can confirm UEL headers + stock everything else does not drone. It also sounds weird.

It does! The local buddy here had JDL header and was loud with I think N1. Went for a drive with the stock exhaust I still had laying around and thought he got lost trying to follow lol. Soooo quiet.

Yeah, there are days I like it, and days that it bothers me. I haven't actually listened to it from the outside yet, but from inside the car it sounds almost like stock but louder with a hint of rasp under high loads. There's some burble at lower RPMs, but at high RPMs it sounds a little thrashy. It's very civil for puttering about town, and very Subaru at idle, but it's just not what I'd consider a sporty sound at WOT.

So many deals currently going on for car parts, no desire to "upgrade" car any further as of this moment....

I'm tempted to pick up an Invidia Q300 or some RCE Yellows if they're being discounted anywhere, but getting lowering springs right before winter seems a little counter productive.

@jawn I guess it's back to the drawing board. I suppose header and quietest CBE available is another option. It's all about controlling rasp and drone though.
