LOL! So cute with the caps. Well, the pricing hasn't been officially announced, but it's been known for some time that Toyota wanted to make this an affordable RWD coupe. People think mid to low $20Ks. Subaru's version is most probably going to cost more than that. This car is supposed to be an affordable, lightweight, RWD coupe with a Subaru Boxer engine. Besides that, nothing else has been officially stated. No one knows if this car will have a convertible, AWD, or sedan version. As of right now, there have just been rumors so only time will tell. Official pricing will probably be available towards the end of this year, closer to the date when the car will be released. Search around the forum and you'll find a lot of information that would answer your questions. If you can't find something, ask around and members should help you out.

The Honda Fit seems like a fairly "low" car and short in length. I would guess that the FT-86 would be just as tall if not a little lower and longer for sure.

if you are concerned about gas mileage probably not (depending on how many mpg the 86 gets, which probably wont be too bad but im guessing not quite 27/33mpg), however if you want a slick little car with some power then for sure.

Wow that is a major difference in size. Thanks for the pics, especially of the Silvia.

And this will not be able to compete with the Fit for MPG. I think it will be closer to mid-size 4 banger MPG mid 20's maybe 30.

So outta curiosity chopped the old vs new. Double and triple-checked the dimensions to make sure they're right, and it's somewhat weird, surprising.

I swear the FT86-II concept wheelbase is shorter, that's why I thought the concept was bigger than they said. If you notice, the original concept has the rear wheel that's an inch or so further back. If I were to match the wheelbases of the two, then the 18" wheels on the FT86II concept would be the same size as the 19" on the first, so I don't think that's right. How it's sized now, the wheel sizes are about proportional.

Also interesting to note, the hood looks longer mainly because the front windshield is placed further back, thus accentuating the hood length and short overhang. The added length mainly comes from the pointy ground effects up front and the chunkier bumper to the rear. So in actuality it seems like the front overhang is largely unchanged.

You can also notice the difference in C-pillar shape here. I purposely just uncovered specific portions since they look so similar overlapped.
