Even if you can't get any good pictures of the cars I'd still be interested in seeing the boat at dock if you don't mind.

Well, I did make it down there today - about 1:00. Unfortunately, the way that dock is situated, it's pretty tough to see anything coming off of the boat, or anything "parked" alongside the boat. There are containers between the road and the boat which block your view. I then drove up to the hillside in the background, but you would need a serious zoom lens - it's further away than it looks. Hopefully someone else has more luck than I did. There was one non-public road which went along the backside of the ship, which I started down until I saw "port vehicles only" signs...didn't feel like getting arrested by Homeland Security.

Pics from today - again, nothing special except for the ship itself. Which I have to admit - it's kind of fun tracking a ship on the internet, then go and see it in person. The internet is crazy!

Guess I don't need to stop by after all... Kind of figured that would be the case though. The way the port is laid out you can only see cars on the lots closest to the road.

Google maps shows most of the auto lots near "port of tacoma rd" near the front. Anyone wanna go make a trip??

I would wait awhile. I saw some of those lots - cars with white plastic sheet protection...I saw mostly Jaguars. In any case, I don't imagine they'll move them anywhere till later tonight. Good luck!

Here's a shot I got of the Apollon Leader leaving Quonset Point, RI. I did not see any BRZs there, although it's possible that they were just too far away to see. I couldn't really make out what type of cars had just been unloaded, but I'm pretty sure it was VWs. The place had miles and miles of VW/Audi/Porsche and just a few lots of Subaru.

Besides homeland security, is there a lot of security out there? I've always been curious. You guys make piracy seem so easy in the U.S. LOL

Yeah.. after looking at this there are so many damn car carriers we are just doing this for fun. Subaru uses more than just NYK I'm sure and that's mostly what we've been looking at.

Midnight Sun is currently unloading at Tacoma.

NOCC CASPIAN just left Portland, at what could well be the Subaru dock (hard to tell in photos but some look like STIs on old photos.. probably wishful thinking though

Multiple in the LA area..

Seven Seas Highway is currently loading/unloading at Davisville.

Apollon Leader is on the way to Boston (we already ruled it out)

There are a couple other vehicle carriers in the general Davisville/NE area but the ones I looked at came from NY/NJ..

So yeah, mostly pointless to bother looking.. but kinda fun lol

Plus we have a chance to learn a ton about RoRo vessels and other stuff!

I'm sure my dealer will call me during this weekend, just because I'm down with high fever and can't (won't) go anywhere in the next few days
