HAAAAWWW! Finally installed the silencer on my exhaust this morning before work. THAT THING WORKS! It sounds terrrrrible - on par with the worst Civic or Neon you might come across in the wild, but it's a good bit quieter. To put it into perspective, I didn't wear earplugs on the interstate this morning. So now I can daily the FR-S while the DD is down without having to constantly play the Hide From The Cops Game. Very pleased.
If you're one of those people that's concerned what other people think of the way your car sounds, you would not be enthused about this thing. It creates a flat raspy type sound. But luckily for me, I don't give a shit. Yesterday started out terribly, but today is the opposite of that so far.

I'm curious too. You no longer have the radio to drown out the sound correct?

The radio would be irrelevant normally. I think I could probably hear it now with this silencer. But yeah, I have 0 sound system left.
I'll try to make yet another sound video this weekend if weather permits.

Your build is awesome man. You'll have a pretty awesome car, for a fraction of the cost of the exige.
I'm pretty sure that no racing (even autoX) is going to allow you to run with a battery ziptied down. Usually they require a pretty sturdy locking device. Even though I'm sure the zip ties hold it down well. Just something to look into. |

If you ever decide you need to cover the exposed metal with something to cut down on light reflection, cover some wiring, or just clean up the look.. black speaker cloth is very light and cheap and fairly durable. I used a couple yards of it to cover the rear seat delet on my Evo X. It was a good color match to the stock black interior as well.
Glad to see your going to sort out a battery tie-down... that had me a little concerned lol

I think I might start working on the wire situation this weekend, if I have time.
And no need to be concerned about the battery! I'm a master zip tiesmith.
