Did we ever get a dyno of the Vortech STG1+ with 93 or e85 or did i miss it?

John also said there was very little (less then five horsepower) difference between 91 and 93 octane.

Something sounds wrong there. To me it seems like it is when the wastegate is open you hear that fluttering sound. Wastegate acting up? BOV acting up?

Sounds like massive amounts of compressor surge. Usually a ported housing can help with that.(compressor is mismatched with required exhaust ar. increase the size of the exhaust ar and all should be good.)

sounds like the wastegate doing its normal thing, a really big wastegate...lol but im curious how high it reved!

Yeah, most likely the waste gate. My WRX sounds like that when I'm at full boost. As my dad put it: it sounds like two garbage can lids being banged together.

It is the wastegate doing what it's supposed to, with an electronic boost controller that I believe is pulse width modulated. Once you get above the wastegate's spring pressure the EBC takes over and this is what it sounds like, especially at low boost. As for the RPM that he's winding it out to...well mine hits the rev limiter at 8800-8900rpm...so it's safe to assume that's about where he's going!
