My big faded coffee cup that I use every day is a souvenir from Trinity Site. I had an opportunity to visit it when I was in college. Creepy seeing all the concrete bunkers around the perimeter.

Check out the Atomic Testing Museum in Vegas if you ever get a chance. I spent all day there and learned a shitton of stuff. Old guy volunteer tour guide worked on the projects from 1954 to 1994 and I could have listened to his stories for days.
He said they were surprised ever single time the bombs worked since they never expected them to. They were also happily surprised when they did tests where the bomb was not supposed to work and it didn't.
