Yea, I realized that afterwards, although if the owner has proof she took the car without permission, that company (and owner) probably wouldn't be a productive path.

depends on your state law. here in TX even if someone steals your car and does bad with it the damage parties can still go after you. by law, everyone here is require to have insurance regardless if your car is road worthy or not. i have an older car that is in storage, my adjuster told me according to TX law i still need to have insurance on it encase someone steals it and cause damages to others. but i told her nah, im good.

Minimum policy in states won’t make much difference, as the minimum requirements probably aren’t going to pay a whole lot. Probably just cover legal fees unless they can sue multiple people.

Anyone else seeing crazy markups on the 2021s? My cousin was looking into replacing his totaled C43, and I told him to check out the supra just for the heck of it. He said he went to test drive one and they told him it had a $20K mark up above MSRP This wasn't listed on the dealer website by the way, otherwise he wouldn't have wasted his time, they told him while he was there in person.

Considering 2020s were going for 5K under MSRP, I would be shocked if the changes for 2021 suddenly made the Supra that much more desirable. I'd just get a Cayman or M2 at that price.

It’s nuts because even though I live in car central I’ve only seen 2 maybe 3 of these on the road. Granted due to the pandemic people are out less and I’m driving less, but I’ve seen the new corvette more often. So even here in LA it doesn’t seem to be selling all that well to justify the markup IMO (and mark up is a big reason why so many of them sat after the initial craze). But maybe there is something I don’t know.

It's because of Covid. Supply is down across the board. The Rav 4 is marked up 20k too and some other Toyotas have markups as well. It's just supply and demand that you're seeing right now in this weird market.
