I'd say the Jorndan 1's since they don't have too much cushioning. Skaters liked them for that very reason. There's some comfort there but still enough connection to feel the board, if that makes any sense. That's what I looks for in a driver's shoe.

After looking it up I guess some believe the Jordan XVIII is a good option. Never had one so I can't say if there's any truth to it. Based on the reviews it may be worth a try.

I normally use Onitsuka Mexico 66 and (I know it's gay) TOM's, both are good for heel-toe'ing. But between AJ I and III-Spiz'ike(I only own AJs I to V), the AJ I is good for heel-toe driving, specially the High-Strap. That extra padded ankle support helps keep the shoe snug but not constricting when driving. AJ III has a pretty comfortable cushioning on the heels if you're driving under normal conditions. So, betweern the two, would be determined by how you drive.

I need to find some kicks that I can casually drive but can go walk and stand for a while. I don't feel so comfortable wearing Pumas or Onitsuka Tigers anymore when walking/standing. Maybe because I'm flat flooted? But I def is bothering me more than ever. I'll probably get III's later but I want something different under the Nike category. Suggestions?

Many would probably say Roshe Runs, I personally do not own a pair ao I cannot attest to it. But I would highly consider a few in the Air Max line-up: AM 87, AM 90, AM Burst, and Air Huarache. Another pair that is cushiony is the ACG Talaria.

I should try one of my AM 90's. I guess I haven't used them for driving for some odd reason. I should buy every Nike Running shoe just to feel and review for driving. I need to try a pair of Roshe runs.

I've liked the Free Runs for driving sometimes. If that helps.

They are pretty flexible, so driving with it give you the most feel on your pedals. I was thinking more of long term use. In the last six years, I alternately cycle through four or five pairs of shoes for work: AM 90, Air Zoom Moire, Air Stab, adidas BOUNCE, and Cons Poorman Weapon.

I can imagine the Nike Free a comfortable pair of shoes, but if it is for someone who are on their feet most of the time, the comfort of the cushioning would wear off with in a year. Just like with any running shoes, once it reaches a certain hundred miles it's not as comfortable as it was during it's first 30 miles. I only have the early versions of the Nike Free, which are the '5.0' and the Free Trail(pictured below-take note on the fat and wide heel outer sole), both were bought when it released in 2005.

If the free runs are dedicated driving shoes they last longer, but you're right. If used for daily driving and casual wear then yeah the cushioning on that shoe wouldn't last very long. Alternatively, the cushioning could just be replaced I guess.
