This is fun watching people debate the merits of a new car that as far as anybody knows isn't even remotely on the radar. Did anybody actually read the article? I want a job at a clickbait so I can make up pure bullshit and get the internet all excited.

I think there is just a lot of negative feelings towards modern Nissan in general among auto enthusiasts. Posting something as innocent as a new Sentra SER can boil blood these days.

What you are claiming, to the point that Nissan is alone in their sales tactics, is definitely not common knowledge. It is ludicrous to even fathom that Nissan is able to swell their sales numbers of their Rogue, Altima and Sentra with sales tactics that put those vehicles in the top 5 to 15 in vehicles sold. The math doesn’t add up with known statistics, and the likelihood that they are alone in the industry in their sales tactics to such an extent that they can become a sales leader when you seem to be claiming they shouldn’t be is equally as ludicrous. There is nothing rational about your claims.

Like Yardass said, the market has been unexciting. Remember that just ten years ago we had a market collapse, and the car manufacturers got hit hard. There still is little room to experiment with designs that deviate from the mainstream. Nissan is no exception. Even their highly praised Datsun 510 concept, which would have been awesome to see on the roads, wasn’t pursued by Nissan because survival is key right now. Most innovations are carefully considered, and lately they have been geared towards efficiency and emissions. If anything, the success of electric cars is likely diverting most R+D budgeting to electric technology. Nissan is still relavent and doing well. There is nothing bad about their vehicles against the status quo.

Nissans are cheap. They cater to first time buyers and subprime buyers with huge up front rebates. What is so hard to fathom about my statements?

If by cheap you mean inexpensive for what you get, also known as vehicles with great value, then that is fathomable. If by cater to first time buyers and subprime buyers you mean Nissan's vehicles attract people who are looking for great value for their money because those people don't have money to waste on expensive brand names or other nonsense that doesn't amount to value then that is also fathomable.

If by cheap you mean their vehicles are cheap, discount, crap that are at the bottom of the totem pole in cost compared to all other cars in their respective classes, so all the broke people are buying them, and that is how they have such high sales volume then just go away

Look no farther than that "grounded to the ground" drivel that Toyota was putting out about the Camry a few years back. Now they have an 86 they could actually market that way and other than a short drifting ad, they haven't done anything. Heck, that one might have even been a Subaru ad. I don't remember for sure.

I liked the "grounded to the ground".

Now if you were to put an Earthing Kit on that same Camry it would be grounded grounded to the ground.

If you had to remove some metal for the install it would need too be ground to be grounded, grounded to the ground.

Inexpensive was the meaning I was getting at in that particular statement.

They're definitely on the cheaper side. Except for certain models.

It is easy to see how they sell so many though compared to some brands that dont have to offer such huge discounts.

Too bad this last non-French Nissan has been just discontinued due to a zero star crash test result.

This is like the selvedge jeans of modern car interiors. Amazing!
